Meet the Dragon

Four creatures are seen making the journey.

"Are we still a long way from reaching the cave?" Adam asked Freddy.

"Not really. This river goes through to the front of the cave, where the dragon is. We'll be there by noon." Answer the bear.

"Then what are your plans after we meet the dragon?" Blacky asked Adam.

"I don't know. I'd better ask the old man first. He's the one that made me do this journey."

"Tornado, appear!"

Whoooosss, then old man Tornado appeared with a sleepy face.

"Ouch, why are you always calling at the wrong time? I'm just going to sleep." The old man said it angrily.

"Sorry, grandpa. We have a little problem here, we need your guidance. We're about to reach the dragon's place. In your opinion, how do we get the ring?" Adam asked.

"Yeah, stupid question. Why don't you try asking nicely? Who knows? Maybe he'll give it to you. If he doesn't want to, try exchanging something for it. If it still doesn't work, you'll just have to take it by force. That's easy, right?"

"Hey, old man. Do you think we're facing a kid? This is a dragon, a dragon, old man."

"So what if it's a dragon? You remember this well, if you can't seize the ring, it means you're not worthy enough to be a wind controller. All you need is wisdom and bravery. How you do that is none of my business. I'm going to sleep, I'm sleepy."

Zap! The tornado disappeared, leaving Adam and his friends.

"Useless old geezer. I was thinking he was the best guardian I have, but I was wrong." Adam grumbled because he was not satisfied with Tornado's answer.

"What do you guys think? I don't have a plan for now. And I don't know the dragon's personality either. If only I had more information, maybe I could make a plan." Adam invited his friends to discuss.

"As far as I know, the dragon has a very bad temper. Its behavior is very evil. Every time someone comes close to the cave, he will chase them away. If they fight back, he will make them roast. The bursts of fire that come out of its mouth are very dangerous. I'd better wait outside, some distance away. My daughter is still too young, there's no one to take care of him if I die here." Freddy said.

"I will always accompany you in joy and sorrow, Master. We will fight against that dragon to the last drop of blood." Blacky said this while lifting one of his front legs.

"Really? Are you ready to be a roast cat?" Adam asked sarcastically.

"Well, not yet, master. I still haven't tasted your best steak. Maybe we can steal the ring secretly." Blacky said it casually.

"Aha, that's brilliant. Why didn't I think of it. You're so smart, Blacky." Adam said, praising Blacky's intelligence.

"One of us will distract the dragon, and the other one will take the ring. And there's another one to warn if the dragon comes back, just in case. How about it?"

"I don't know what the ring looks like, maybe I should just be the announcer." Blacky said.

"I don't know what it looks like either, but I'm also afraid of facing a dragon directly." Freddy said he was scared.

"Okay. I'll enter the cave to search for the ring. Blacky, you will distract the dragon. Make him come to you. Buy his time for as long as you can. And you, Freddy, you will give the code if the dragon suddenly comes back to the cave."

"First, Blacky will pretend to be lost in front of the cave. Molly can help if she is brave enough to see the dragon. When the dragon comes, you invite him to chat, debate, or whatever, just don't let the dragon return to the cave. If it fails and the dragon returns to the cave, go to plan B. Freddy must send me a code to be alert. Hit something in pattern three or four times."

"What if I fail or the dragon knows my position and then eats me? I don't want to die young, huhuhuu," said Freddy.

"You are not young anymore, Freddy. Don't worry, just pretend to be blind. Ask the dragon to escort you out of the cave safely."

"Then what about you, Adam? How did you escape?" Molly asked suddenly.

Adam was silent for a moment. Then, grinning, he said, "I haven't thought about that yet. Hehehe. The most important thing is that we get the ring first."

"Hah, it turns out you're not smarter than me, master." Blacky said it with a mocking face.

"Well, there's no lunch for you this afternoon, okay?" said Adam with a smile.

"Sorry, Master, I was just kidding. Lunch is everything to me." Blacky whined, followed by the laughter of his three friends.

That afternoon, they arrived in a meadow near the cave where the dragon was nesting.

After leaving the supplies in a large tree, they began their move. Adam and Freddy snuck to the side of the cave while Blacky and Molly made a small fuss on the river bank not far from the mouth of the cave.

"This is all because of you. I told you earlier that we should turn right, following the footpath, not left." Molly started the fuss.

"But as far as I remember, it's faster to go on the left. If you go to the right, it goes a long way." Blacky replied annoyingly.

"Now that we are lost, what are we going to do? I'm tired of going back again." Molly doesn't want to go back anymore.

"Let's just follow where this river flows." Blacky said it flatly.

"Are you crazy? What if we meet a big crocodile? Or a giant snake?" Molly shouted in annoyance

Hearing the commotion in front of the cave, the sleeping dragon felt disturbed and came out to find out what was happening. Meanwhile, Adam and Freddy sneaked in after the dragon came out.

"You guys are so noisy. Get out of here! I was sleeping inside. Don't disturb me!" The dragon said it in a booming voice.

Molly was trembling in fear. Blacky was a little scared at first too, but he couldn't show that fear in front of Molly. Finally, Blacky dared to say, "Where should we go? We are lost. If we knew the way, we wouldn't stop here."

"It's all because of him. I told him to go right, but instead he went left. He said he already knew the way. It turns out we ended up getting lost." Molly blamed Blacky to get the dragon's attention.

"Haah, that's none of my business. Quickly, you two get out of here. Don't be a nuisance." said the dragon, not wanting to know.

"We don't want to bother you either. We just need to spend the night here and take a rest because we are too tired to continue the journey. We'll make a makeshift tent out of leaves and tree branches. And we'll leave tomorrow morning."

"Hey, hey, hey... I told you to leave, and you will make a tent instead. Are you stupid? Who allowed you to make a tent here?" said the dragon, annoyed.

"Who are you to stop us from making tents? This island belongs to all animals. Everyone can live wherever they like," Blacky said without thinking.
