"Who are you, and how do you know me? "She questioned staring at the strange powerful woman, if it were to be in any other scenario she would have complimented her in her beautiful body structure and hair.
But now was not the time, now she had to figure out how to get back home, to go back to her former life, but deep down she knew that would not be possible.
"The name is Ryan, I'm a level one, so you could say information gets to me real fast".
She gave Ryan a blank stare completely unimpressed, unless this amazonian looking woman had information on how she got here and how she could get out she was otherwise unimportant.
"Am I supposed to be impressed?" the words leave her mouth before she can take them back, and the collective loud intake of breath lets her know that she was in fact one more sarcastic comment away from being dead… for real this time.
Ryan stared at her with what could only be regarded as fascination, others cowered before her, yet the youngling before her had this deviant look in her eyes, the kind a royal had when faced with opposition from a mere knight.
"You are quite different from what I expected… naive, deviant and stubborn, I see it on your face." Ryan murmurs, staring at the pale girl that took up space in the make shift clinic.
"I'm sorry I didn't fit the package description, if you could just return me that would be nice." she remarks, and she could have sworn she heard a grunt from the dark corner of the room.
Casting the corner a look, she watches as a figure emerges, she wasn't as loco as she had thought.
"You can't return home". The words have her snapping her head back in Ryan's direction.
"What do you mean I 'can't' go home?" she questions, her tone firm, even though she was on the verge of crying.
"You were assassinated by the government, what sane part of you thinks you belong in that word? This is your second chance at life, and I will be damned if I let you waste the gift of life that the gods have blessed you with". Her words had stopped making sense after a while…
Assassinated by the government….
What in the god's name did she mean, assassinated by the government.
Ignoring her bewildered face, Ryan continues.
" I understand that you haven't come to terms with your current situation, but time isn't on your side anymore, if they find out that you survived somehow, they will come for you…"
Come for me?
"… your peers will show you around. Get used to this life, it might be the only one you have left."

After Ryan had left the room, the rest also filtered out, like sheep she thought, but the level 4 stayed, she had come to find out that her name was Annalise May, and the only reason she had seen her in her trance was because Annalise was attempting to save her, all these she had found out through Anna's constant rumbling while she showed her around the mutant camp.
Xena had come to the conclusion that the camp was situated in an old cathedral, this conclusion was of course drawn from the structure of the building, most of the room on the first floor, were bedrooms and the rest on the other higher floors were either, storages or rooms of warriors who had worked their way to the top.
She rolled her eyes at that, of course to get a good room you had to be high up, it was like politics all over again.
Annalise was also kind enough to explain how the place works and how it was kept safe, the level fives kept the force fields up, they were impenetrable, in Anna's words and the level fours kept an illusion to make the place look like it was an endless field.
She was given the necessities she needed to survive; towels, soap, sponge, the usual. For a second she felt like an in mate, except in reality she was actually far worse.
They come to a stop at the end of a long hall, where a bed lay empty.
"This will be your bed"Anna says pointing to the bed.
"How comfy"she retorts and Anna lets out a sigh.
"Xena... I know how you feel..."
"Do you really?... I'm surrounded by monsters"she snaps, dropping her new belongings on the bed, grateful for the lack of an audience in the otherwise big room.
"We are not monsters-"
"You kill people"
"To defend ourselves, because we have to... we are not monsters, we just want to survive, and we would never attack unless we are attacked first, that is our code, and we live by it". Anna's voice had gotten louder by the end of her sentence, and Xena could swear that she could feel a headache coming.
"So what? I'm just going to have to leave my life like I'm one of you?"
Taking a deep breath, Anna replies, "I don't know... but maybe one day, you would understand that our actions aren't born from hate.... see you around Xena"she had mumbled the last part before walking away.
Safe to say that Xena had felt guilty for making her feel like shit, but she was also feeling helpless, it was so much she doubted she had the power to feel that way on her own... these feelings didn't feel like hers.
