Omniscience in Marvel 146

The sun had barely risen over the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the cliffs of Santorini. A gentle breeze swept through the air, carrying with it the salty scent of the Mediterranean Sea.

Lucas stood beside his wife, Thena, on a whitewashed balcony overlooking the endless blue.

"It's still as breathtaking as it was the first time we were here," Thena mused, her voice soft and filled with nostalgia.

Lucas smiled and glanced sideways, admiring the way the sunlight reflected off her golden hair. "Everything about this place is timeless, just like us." He reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. "But this time, it will be different."

Thena raised an eyebrow, curious as she turned to face him. "Different how?"

"We've been here before, countless times. We've watched the world change, seen empires rise and fall. But…" He paused, his eyes locking onto hers with a deeper intensity. "This time, it's just the two of us. No wars, no duties, no distractions... Just us."

She smiled, leaning into his touch. "You make it sound like we've never done this before."

"Not like this," Lucas countered, his voice almost a whisper as he pulled her closer. "This time, we're not just rulers or warriors. We're lovers."

With that, he closed the distance between them as his lips found hers in a slow, tender kiss. It was a kiss that spoke of millennia shared together, of love that had only grown stronger with time.

The world around them seemed to fade as they stood there, lost in each other, the endless blue sea stretching before them like the eternity they had together.

The next day, they found themselves in Kyoto, walking through the serene gardens of an ancient temple. Cherry blossoms fluttered down from the trees, creating a soft pink carpet beneath their feet.

Thena had always loved Japan, Kyoto in particular because it was the place Susanoo, one of the Gods she admired for his Martial prowess, lived and made a name for himself.

However, contrary to what one would expect from a Sword Martial artist, Susanoo was also a lover of beauty and aesthetics. He knew how to maintain a balance between nature and history.

It was so beautiful that the world seemed to slow down here.

"I think I could stay here forever," she said, her voice almost dreamlike as she watched the petals dance in the wind.

Lucas chuckled softly, his arm wrapped around her waist. "Forever might be a bit long, even for us."

She shot him a playful glance. "Says the man who's lived for millennia."

"Hey. That makes two of us." Lucas shot back defensively only got Thena to pause and glare at him.

"Are you calling me old?"

"What?" Lucas for the life of him couldn't understand how she came to that conclusion, but as the saying went; experience is the best teacher. "I would never. You are as young and brimming with vitality as you were when we first met."

"Yeah? If memory serves me well, you were out to kill us." Thena said, her glare not diminishing in the very least.

"You know that's not true. You band of misfits thought I was an evolved deviant and attacked me first. I only retaliated in self defense." Lucas replied with a smirk. "Good thing I was always stronger."

"Tsk. Way to blow your own horn." Thena clicked her tongue and ignored him.

Lucas chuckled to himself as they walked in comfortable silence for a while, the only sounds, the rustling of leaves and the distant chime of temple bells.

As they reached a small pond, Lucas stopped, pulling her into his arms. "Do you ever think about how lucky we are?"

Thena looked up at him, her expression soft. "Every day."

"We've lived so long, seen so much. But through it all, it's always been you and me. That's something not even the gods can take away."

She smiled, resting her head against his chest. "I suppose we're not so different from the cherry blossoms. We've weathered countless seasons, but we're still here. Still beautiful."

Lucas pressed a kiss to the top of her head lovingly. "And we'll always be."

"I wonder how that kid is doing…" Thena suddenly muttered as they boarded the plane and were about to leave for their next destination.

"You know he doesn't like you calling him that." Lucas said with a soft chuckle as he removed his overcoat and placed it on a compartment in their large VIP booth.

"Like I care, once a kid always a kid." Thena scoffed, crossed her arms and replied.

"Yes, yes." Lucas said and sat down beside her. "He's probably still at home."

"Hmm, I wonder how strong he'd gotten."

"According to Yeshua, the last time he visited Heaven to spar with him, he'd gotten significantly stronger." Lucas said with a proud smile.

"Of course he would." Thena rolled her eyes disdainfully at him. "He's seeking someone's recognition afterall."

To her words, Lucas merely shrugged. "Not my business. If he can't acknowledge himself, why should I?" Saying that, Lucas closed his eyes, effectively ending the discussion.

Their journey took them to the Serengeti, where the golden savannah stretched as far as the eye could see. They stood atop a hill, watching a herd of elephants pass by in the distance.

The sky above was a deep shade of orange as the sun began its descent, casting long shadows across the land.

Thena took a deep breath, savoring the wild, untamed beauty of the place. "It's been centuries since we've been here," she remarked, her voice filled with awe.

Lucas nodded, his arm draped lazily over her shoulders. "It's one of those places that never changes. No matter how much time passes, the land remains the same."

She leaned into him, her eyes scanning the horizon. "Do you ever miss the days when we were young? When the world was still new?"

Lucas smiled wistfully. "Sometimes. But I wouldn't trade what we have now for anything."

Thena turned to face him, her eyes filled with affection. "You always know just what to say."

He grinned, pulling her closer. "Comes with a few thousand years of practice."

Unbothered by the passage of time, they watched the sun slowly dip below the horizon, the sky turning a deep shade of Purple creating an even more beautiful sight.

As the stars began to twinkle above, Lucas leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear. "You know," he whispered, "I could get used to this."

Thena chuckled softly, resting her head on his shoulder. "I think we both could."

Paris was their next stop, the city of love. They wandered the cobbled streets hand in hand. The Eiffel Tower loomed in the distance, its lights twinkling against the night sky.

"I've always loved this city," Thena said, her eyes sparkling as they approached a small café.

Lucas smiled, pulling her into a quiet corner where they could watch the world go by. "It has a certain charm, doesn't it?"

She nodded, taking a sip of her wine. "There's something about Paris that makes everything feel more…alive."

"Perhaps it's Saint Germain? The guy never really did like me and you knew it." Lucas said

"Your namesake?" Thena said as she burst out laughing.

One of the many Shadow families Leucadius had set up in every country of the world was the St. Germain family. This was how Lucien was able to become the Headmaster of the First University of France.

The opportuned canonisation of Bishop Germain into Saint Germain only served to help the Family hide itself better.

Lucas leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on her. "You make everything feel more alive."

Thena blushed, a rare sight even after all these years. "You've always had a way with words, but don't think you can change the discussion with that."

He chuckled, leaning across the table to take her hand. "Only when it comes to you."

They spent the rest of the evening talking, reminiscing about their past adventures. As the night wore on, Lucas pulled her close, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "No matter where we go, or how much time passes, it's always been you, Thena."

She smiled, her heart full. "And it always will be."

After weeks of travel and visiting all their favorite spots as just lovers unbound by any form of responsibility, they finally returned home, their hearts full of love and their minds at ease.

As they stepped through the doors of their grand mansion, Thena paused, her hand resting on her stomach.

"Lucas," she said softly, her voice tinged with disbelief.

He turned to face her, concern flickering in his eyes. "What is it?"

She took a deep breath, her eyes wide. "I think…I think I'm pregnant."

For a moment, the world seemed to stop. Lucas stared at her, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, a smile spread across his face.

"That's impossible," Thena whispered, her voice shaking. "We've tried before, and—"

"I know," Lucas interrupted, his voice calm and reassuring. He stepped forward, placing a hand gently on her stomach. "But sometimes, the impossible happens."

Thena looked up at him, her eyes filled with a mix of hope and fear. "How?"

Lucas's smile widened, but he said nothing. Instead, he leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to her lips. "Let's just say…some things were meant to be."

Thena narrowed her eyes dangerously as she glared at Lucas. "I may love you stupidly, but I'm not that gullible, and it's disrespectful that you think I am that easy to deceive."

Lucas' smile slowly disappeared as he looked at Thena calmly. "There's no need for that between us. I would've told you regardless."

"Then wha-"

"But first, we need to officially conclude our vacation properly. I remember saying that we would not be using our powers for anything whatsoever." Lucas interrupted.

"Tha-"

"I do not want to listen to excuses." Lucas closed his eyes and looked away with a determined face.

"You…fine whatever. We've got all the time in the world afterall." Thena could only stamp her foot in frustration before leaving her luggages where they were and walked away while dragging the smirking Lucas.

"You know it's rude to leave our luggages like that."

"The servants will take care of them."

"The term is 'maid' Thena, don't let any of them hear you say this. We could be reported for slavery in these precarious times."

"Like I care about that." Thena continued walking furiously but with grace that befitted her as a royalty by blood.

Lucas laughed at this which only fueled her rage. The two continued as their playful and excited voices rang through the halls of the mansion, causing the old maids and butlers to smile knowingly.

'How long has it been since their master and mistress came back together so full of happiness and love?'

This was something that had never happened. Since their admission into the mansion, every member of the family they've come across all had this expression that said they were moving with purpose.

It was…constraining and hard for them to approach.

It was only when they did approach that they'd realize that below all those faces, they were kids in the end.

(A/N: I'm speaking in context of the original Lucas before he was replaced by Leucadius. NOTE that he is not dead but on a vacation somewhere out there. I did mention that.)

'Perhaps we would be welcoming a Young Master even…'
