Chapter 1

One fateful day, the world awoke to a new reality: superpowers had become a part of everyday life. In this transformed society, the measure of one's success and status hinged solely on the strength and utility of their abilities. Jobs that once relied on traditional skills were now revolutionized by the use of powers, while schools shifted their focus to developing and honing the powers of the younger generation. Combat training became a cornerstone of education, a necessary skill for navigating a world where conflicts were often resolved through shows of strength.

Amidst this backdrop of power and prowess stood a seemingly ordinary teenager named Ness. At 17 years old, he was on the cusp of starting his second year at Elite Power High School (EPHS), renowned for its exceptional faculty and student body. Despite possessing what many deemed a "useless" power, Ness had earned his place at EPHS through sheer academic prowess, a testament to his determination and intellect.

As Ness gazed upon the imposing facade of his new school, he harbored a simple wish for the days ahead: a peaceful student life, free from the spotlight and pressures of his peers. But his tranquility was soon interrupted by the arrival of a captivating figure, drawing the attention of all who beheld her.

The girl, known as Shizu-san, exuded an otherworldly aura that left onlookers in awe. With her striking features, including long black hair, piercing red eyes, and a figure that commanded attention, she effortlessly captivated the gaze of those around her. As whispers of admiration rippled through the crowd, Ness couldn't help but marvel at the spectacle before him—a human masterpiece in motion, destined to leave an indelible mark on the canvas of his high school experience.

"Hey, Shizu, right? Mind if I get your Instagram?" The bold proclamation came from the first boy to step forward, his confidence bordering on arrogance.

Shizu's response was polite but firm. "Sorry, I don't use Instagram. But thanks for asking."

Undeterred, the boy continued his pursuit. "How about Snapchat? WhatsApp? Facebook?" He rattled off a list of social media platforms, each met with a gentle refusal from Shizu.

Before he could propose yet another way to connect, Shizu's friend, Yushino, intervened. "Hey, would you leave her alone?" Her voice held a hint of irritation, a protective shield around her friend.

The exchange took a heated turn when the persistent boy resorted to name-calling. "Pig," he spat out, his insult aimed at Yushino.

The insult hung in the air, casting a shadow over the tense atmosphere. As I observed the scene unfolding, my attention shifted between the players involved. I was quite confused by his choice of words, while Shizu's ethereal beauty had captured the gaze of many, Yushino's own attractiveness did not go unnoticed. Yet, amidst the chaos, a new figure emerged—a handsome boy with a commanding presence.

His intervention was timely, his words a call for peace in the midst of chaos. "Let's calm down, shall we? Resorting to insults won't solve anything. Let's move on from this."

His calm demeanor and reasonable approach commanded respect, even from the most unruly of students. As the situation de-escalated, I couldn't help but admire his ability to diffuse tension with ease.

However, just as the confrontation seemed to reach a resolution, a shocking display of power disrupted the peace. The unruly student's fist transformed into solid stone, a manifestation of his unique ability.

Before chaos could erupt anew, a mysterious figure intervened—a teacher named Hugo, his authority unquestionable as he administered swift justice.

"You're expelled," said Hugo.

"Wh-Wha?!"

The unruly student's expulsion was met with disbelief and protest, but Hugo's decree was final.

As the expelled student raged against his fate, I couldn't help but wonder about the secrets that lurked beneath the surface of Elite Power High School. And as Hugo's gravity-defying presence loomed over us, I realized that our journey was only just beginning.

As the chaos of the earlier confrontation dissipated, Ness couldn't help but reflect on the events that had just unfolded.

With the situation now under control and the gravitational pressure lifted, the students began to regain their composure. The mysterious teacher who had intervened simply walked away, leaving behind a sense of calm in his wake.

"Thank you, everyone, for staying calm," the handsome student spoke up, addressing the group. "Are you okay, Shizu-san?" he asked, turning his attention to the girl at the center of the earlier commotion.

"Yes, thanks to you," Shizu replied gratefully.

"U-Uh, i-it was nothing," the boy stammered, clearly flustered by the attention.

With the ordeal behind them, the students began to make their way towards the school campus. As they arrived, the principal's voice boomed over the crowd, welcoming them to the prestigious Elite Power High School. His words were filled with promises of growth and potential, inspiring the students to strive for greatness.

With the opening ceremony concluded, attention turned to the assignment of classes. Each student would be placed into a class based on their potential, ranging from F to A, with A being the highest ranking.

After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Ness's name was finally called.

"Ness, Class F"
