Chapter 100.2 : Jellal!!

However, Miko appears to truly have such a mission.

There's a stipulation in the contract that Everit will assist Miko in "sending off" the demon—though it's not obligatory, as demons are typically formidable. Miko would rather breach the contract than risk Everit getting into trouble.

Regarding demons, Miko explained: Demons are entities that absorb significant natural magic. To humans, they are uncontrollable natural disasters; to nature, they are thieves that pilfer natural magic.

Thus, Miko aims to "send off" the demons and restore their magical essence to harmless natural forces.

Seven years ago,

When Everit first entered the Scale Angel state, he slew a "dormant" demon. Miko extracted the toughest bone from its body and instinctively used alchemy to craft the exceedingly sharp Haven in his hand with Everit.

This seemed to corroborate the information—Miko might indeed be a formidable sorcerer who delved into the truth of magic and then transformed, though something must have gone awry, especially concerning the gods, leading to memory loss.

Achieving the pinnacle of magic, of course, comes at a cost.

Black Dragon, Zeref, all have experienced this.

Returning to the present,

It's almost reflexive for Miko to eliminate someone once sighted.

Yet, after such an act, she feels slighted, akin to a little girl who's stepped on a new shoe.

Under normal circumstances, Everit would certainly comfort her tenderly.

But now he is embroiled in combat.

Moreover, he revels in the battle.

Yes.

He revels.

After consoling Miko, he redirects his focus back to the fray.

Meanwhile, Brain and the others are utterly perplexed.

What just happened?

That collaborator and his research team vanished in an instant? !

What did they witness?

Is there truly a formidable and terrifying demon lurking behind Everit? !

"It's been confirmed!"

"Why fight then? Even if you defeat Everit, the demon will still kill you!"

"Why are your attacks so weak?" Everit couldn't tolerate their hesitation and fear.

"If we're going to fight, we can't hesitate!"

"Let's give it our all, sweat and bleed!"

Everit charged towards Brain and the others.

Meanwhile, in the room, Wendy was threatened by several wizards.

She looked at the blue-haired man in front of her, who was sealed.

Jellal! Her benefactor.

But...

Wendy shook her head and cried, "I'm sorry, Jellal, I can't save you right now!"

"What did you say?"

"You wretched girl, heal Jellal quickly!"

"Isn't he your savior? And yet, you're willing to let him die!"

Several wizards grew anxious.

Wendy asserted firmly, "I understand. You only want me to save Jellal so he can fight Mr. Everit."

"I won't allow that!"

"Because they're both kind people!"

"Mr. Everit fought all alone to save me from you villains."

"I can't heal Jellal only to have him fight Mr. Everit. If that happens, no matter who gets hurt, it will be my fault!"

Wendy understood all too well.

If Jellal were healed, he'd likely be controlled by this group and forced into something he didn't want—fighting Everit.

Whether Jellal killed Everit or Everit killed Jellal, it would all be unjust, forced upon them, and she would be the one truly responsible for the mistake!

"You wretched girl, you're asking for trouble!" A wizard's hand glowed with magic.

Wendy paled with fear, but she held her ground.

"I'm sorry, Jellal."

"I can't fix things that are already broken. All I can do is stop them from getting worse!"

'Kaka'

At that moment, the door beside him swung open.

An elderly, hunchbacked man entered the room.

Relief washed over him. He was lucky to always have a contingency plan; otherwise, today could have been disastrous!

It was a shame that he had used up his final clone stand here—this was his last chance at life.

But it was all worth it!

With this information in hand, when he returned to report to the Holy Father, he would surely receive generous research funds and materials, and would be permitted to reassemble the team. He could still make a comeback then!

He glanced at everyone and smiled, "Before I go, let me lend Mr. Brain a little assistance."

He produced a pulsating meatball and threw it towards Jellal.

The meatball enveloped Jellal and was gradually absorbed by him.

Meanwhile, underground,

Erza and the others battled against the dark guild under the Six Demons.

"Watch out, Titania!"

Suddenly, an enemy emerged from the ground, wielding a weapon aimed at Erza's neck.

Erza prepared to dodge, but suddenly, everything went dark before her eyes!

'Bang—Crack!'

The sound of something heavy breaking upon impact.

"Erza!" A familiar voice called out from behind.

Erza's vision cleared, and she turned in surprise to see a one-eyed man knocking down the enemy with a stick.

"Simon!"

It was Simon who had come to rescue Erza.

Erza was both shocked and relieved—

because she had heard earlier that the Magic Council escorting Jellal and Simon had been attacked.

Jellal and Simon had gone missing, which deeply worried Erza. However, she never expected to encounter Simon here.

"Why are you here?" Erza asked Simon.

Simon explained, "When Jellal and I were brought to the Council, we were ambushed by a dark wizard. Jellal was taken away, and I was badly wounded. After recovering somewhat from my injuries, I followed the clues and eventually found this place."

"Erza!" Simon spoke gravely, "It was Oración Seis who abducted Jellal!"

"What?!" Erza was shocked. She gazed up at the city, exclaiming, "Could it be that Jellal..."

"It's highly likely he's up there!"

"Oh no, Everit!" Erza reacted swiftly, shouting, "Everit is in danger, and Jellal is up there too. If he collaborates with their leader, they could be as formidable as two of the Ten Wizard Saints. Let's go rescue Everit!"

Everyone present heard this and shared in the concern.

"Hahaha, your friend? He's likely been dead for a while now!" Erigor laughed mockingly.

"Shut up!" Gray shouted, unleashing his Ice Cannon.

"Fire Dragon's - Iron Fist!"

The two attacks struck Erigor simultaneously, sending him flying back.

"Everit, hold on for us!" Gray looked up at the city above, his eyes reflecting worry.
