Excitement thrummed through me like a live wire. Back in the Brooks, I'd craved a way to prove my worth, and my garden there had garnered praise. Now, in the palace, that resolve burned brighter. I had to create a garden unlike any other, a masterpiece. These thoughts tangled in my mind as I returned to my chambers with Mira.
"Is everything well, Your Highness?" Mira inquired, her brow furrowed.
"Absolutely," I chirped, a wide smile plastered on my face. "Just buzzing about my garden project!"
"The news has reached everyone! We're all quite thrilled," she said, her warmth spreading a balm on my anxieties. "To have our palace-grown vegetables and flowers... wonderful!"
My heart swelled. "All the more reason to make this a success," I declared, bounding into the room. Damian was already there, and Mira excused herself. At least I could do something, make everyone happy. Relief washed over me.
