Chapter 5: Kick them out!_1

Ethan Smith felt a little awkward.

He knew very well in his heart that they would definitely humiliate him when he returned home.

Ethan Smith did not want anyone to witness his most embarrassing state.

However, Emily seemed to see through Ethan's thoughts.

She uttered with a bright smile, "Regardless of the difficulties, they will remain insurmountable until you've faced them, right?"

Ethan took a deep breath, nodded. Then he led Emily Taylor as they strode toward the main entrance.

In the living room, the whole Johnson family was gathered together.

Gary Brown could be seen hugging Sylvia Johnson brazenly.

Not only did Ethan Smith's mother-in-law, Brenda Johnson not rebuke Gary Brown, but she even poured the arrogant man a cup of tea.

This scene made it impossible for Ethan to stay calm.

Before he could speak up, Emily Taylor pulled his arm and shook her head.

Shooting Emily Taylor, a glance, Ethan Smith suppressed his wrath.

"Wow, you've found yourself a little slut before we're officially divorced, huh?" Sylvia Johnson scrutinized Emily Taylor in displeasure.

Although she had no feelings for Ethan, seeing him with someone else so quickly annoyed her greatly.

Especially such a beautiful woman.

Any other woman who sees her beauty will feel jealous.

On the other hand, Gary Brown was ogling at Emily Taylor with drool almost leaving his lips.

The lady before his eyes was too captivating for him to avert his gaze away.

Her figure, countenance, and temperament were far too alluring — she was irresistible.

Compared to her, Sylvia instantly paled in comparison!

"This is my friend, please show some respect," Ethan said with a cold face.

Sylvia snorted and ignored Ethan, instead mocking, "Tsk! Tsk! Sis, you're really not picky, huh? Picking up a scrap that I discarded? Don't you know that he is a spineless worm?"

Emily Taylor was unaffected by the remark. Running her fingers through her hair, she riposted casually, "Only an unsophisticated woman would leech off a distinguished man. I'm nothing like you."

Sylvia Johnson was burning with fury upon hearing that.

"You!" Sylvia was shaking with anger but couldn't find the words to retort!

Gary Brown was swallowing hard as he looked at Emily. He was salivating over her, it was impossible not to be moved by such a beauty.

"Miss, you don't seem to be an average jane. And if you don't mind my asking, what do you do for a living?" Gary Brown questioned with a self-righteous handsome smile.

After contemplating, Emily Taylor replied, "I'm involved in all sorts of businesses. Real estate, investments, e-commerce, and so on."

"Real estate?" Gary Brown's eyes widened upon hearing that.

Feeling smug, he said with some pride, "Miss, do you know that the Taylor family from Capital City is coming to our River City for development?"

Looking unfazed, Emily Taylor nodded. "I know."

Gary Brown said with some pride, "Just to let you know, my family has already secured a cooperation opportunity with the Taylor family! Miss, are you perhaps interested in a collaboration?"

Gary Brown's intention was obvious. He was luring Emily with the Taylor family.

Not only did Emily Taylor not appreciate it, but she even let out a snicker.

"B...Brown family, right? Okay, okay, I'll remember it now," Emily said with a smile.

They couldn't imagine that the person in charge of the Taylor family, which they had been talking about all along, was actually right in front of them. Their self-righteous remarks were just embarrassing to Emily.

Thinking he had won her attention, Gary Brown was on cloud nine. Taking out his business card, he said, "Feel free to contact me if you need anything."

"What are you doing!" Sylvia Johnson chided in annoyance.

Gary Brown let out a cough and returned to the sidelines.

Grabbing the divorce agreement form, Sylvia Johnson slammed it on the table before Ethan Smith.

"Sign this, and we'll have nothing to do with each other," Sylvia snorted.

Clenching his fists, Ethan Smith glared at Sylvia Johnson and piped, "Sylvia, you must regret this."

"Enough, stop talking nonsense!" Sylvia Johnson huffed in irritation.

With that, Ethan Smith remained silent and grabbed the pen to sign his name on the papers. Then he pushed the documents back to her.

"I swear I will make both of you adulterers kneel before me and apologize!" Ethan Smith bawled with bloodshot eyes. He would never forget the humiliation on that day.

However, Sylvia and Gary Brown couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"What a fool! We're signing a deal with the Taylor family soon, and we'll climb our way up to become the richest in River City! What about you? You're nothing but an incompetent scum!" Sylvia Johnson taunted.

Taking in a deep breath, Ethan Smith took Emily Taylor's hand and turned around to leave while remaining silent.

Ethan Smith could not hold back his overflowing animosity after getting in the car.

He bit his teeth hard, "Just wait, the two adulterer!"

With the knowledge he inherited from his father, Ethan Smith was full of confidence.

At that moment, Emily Taylor queried, "Do you loathe them?"

Ethan glanced at Emily and said with a bitter smile, "No sane man could be unmoved by a humiliation like this."

Blinking, Emily Taylor contemplated.

Then, Emily drove Ethan to the Dragon Rising Leap Community in the center of River City.

She handed Ethan a key and pointed to a detached villa not far away, "You can live here for now."

Ethan looked up at such a luxurious house and was shocked.

He shook his head, "Miss Emily, this house is too nice... I can't accept it..."

Emily Taylor shrugged, "This is already my worst house."

Seeing that he had no place to go, he took the keys from Emily Taylor.

"Miss Emily, I'll never forget your kindness for as long as I live." Holding the keys in his hands, Ethan Smith looked determined, " I will definitely repay you."

Emily Taylor rolled her eyes and commented, "Take care of yourself first, silly."

Emily Taylor sped off and left soon after.

In the evening.

Emily rode in a Maybach with a Capital City license plate to attend a dinner party.

Nearly all the prominent individuals of Chuzzle were gathered at the dinner. Even River City's richest was as insignificant as a server who refilled drinks for the guests.

On the way, Emily Taylor, with her hand on her cheek, was lost in deep thoughts during the journey to the banquet.

"Miss, are you really going to marry that loser?" her secretary blurted out.

Glaring at him, Emily Taylor answered, "To be honest, I kind of believe what grandpa told me earlier already."

"What do you mean by believing in Old Mister's words?" the secretary questioned in concern.

"He is nothing but worthless scum. He is far too inconsequential in comparison with the young masters in Capital City," the secretary reminded.

Emily Taylor shook her head. "I don't think so. Look, he's a man with many skills at his command, yet he chooses to remain low-key. Besides, he did not ask anything from me in return for his favor, despite living in such a bad condition."

"Tell me, what would you do if your wife humiliated you like that?" Emily Taylor queried.

The secretary frowned and huffed, "I definitely wouldn't let them off!"

"See. That's the normal reaction," Emily Taylor mentioned.

"The fact that he did not ask for my help indicates that he's a man with a spine," Emily Taylor added with a wide smile.

The secretary mumbled, "Who knows if he will just bear with it silently and do nothing?"

"No, I think he will definitely make something of himself in the future," Emily Taylor declared with an air of expectancy.

The secretary forced a smile and scoffed, "In the future? Even if we were to give him ten lifetimes, I doubt he could even hold a candle to the young masters in Capital City."

"Don't be so sure." Emily Taylor shook her head and continued, "You should give the man a little time to prove himself."

Following that, Emily Taylor changed the topic and asked, "Speaking of which, is there any company in our collaboration list that is run by the Brown family?"

Switching on the laptop, the secretary ran through the list thoroughly and nodded. "Yes, Miss Emily. There's one. The Brown family is pretty sincere. Furthermore, their company is considered one of the tops in River City based on their total annual revenue. This company is a pretty good collaboration partner."

Emily responded with an "Oh" and without a second thought said, " Okay. Kick them out!"
