Eugene scanned the area with his mind and saw six lifelike corpses in the strange space, their expressions vivid, all fierce and ferocious, but with a hint of fear lingering.
Hmm, this indicates that people don't instantly die upon entering the strange space; there's a process.
Though the process is incredibly brief.
Hey, even though Garth and his crew had nefarious intentions, was Eugene planning to spare these six individuals?
Their purpose was to bring pain and humiliation to the Walker family, and now that their goal had been achieved, why keep them around?
Eugene chuckled.
With a thought, he tossed all the corpses out of the strange space.
It was filled with supplies, but having dead bodies around, even if they wouldn't "contaminate" each other, still made him uncomfortable.
He took photos of the six corpses with his phone and then returned to the villa.
He sent a message to his ex-wife.
He wondered if Claire's phone still had battery... hopefully, it did.
No response for a while.
Eugene sighed, it seemed her phone was dead.
Oh well, just couldn't rub salt in the wound.
Eugene took a shower, prepared to sleep, but when he checked his phone, Claire had actually replied.
"You killed those six bastards?!!!!"
She was evidently upset, using multiple exclamation marks.
Eugene smiled and replied, "Yeah."
"Eugene, thank you, I knew you still had feelings for me!" Claire was so moved, she was almost in tears. Even though she had been through hell with those six villains, if she could evoke Eugene's sympathy and protective instincts, then she hit the jackpot. She could live in a big villa, eat delicious food, and have no worries at all.
She immediately called Eugene, "Eugene, can I come over now? Please?"
"Huh, have you misunderstood something?" Eugene chuckled, "I did kill Garth and his crew, but they were threatening your family under my command. If they didn't threaten, I'd have killed them anyway. So, they blew up your dad and brother's butts to save their own skins. Why else do you think they had such weird tastes?"
You can't do bad things without leaving a mark.
I have to make you hate me, make you regret it immensely!
Claire couldn't believe it; she dropped her phone on the floor.
"Claire, you idiot!" Chris's angry voice resounded, evidently Claire had made a huge mistake by putting it on speakerphone.
Claire got too excited, thinking Eugene still loved her, so he killed Garth and the others for her. She couldn't wait to show off in front of her dad and brother, thinking, "I'm going to be the mistress of the villa now. If you guys want to move in, better start kissing my butt."
But it ended up in tragedy.
These six people were actually sent by Eugene!
Chris was in his sixties, how could he get through such humiliation, being taken advantage of, and being abused by six people in a row... You can imagine how much anger and frustration he must have.
And all of this was because of Eugene!
Why did Eugene seek revenge on the Walker family like this?
Isn't it because of you, Claire? You cheated first, no, you got pregnant and then found some poor guy to take the blame. Do you think Eugene wouldn't be angry?
So, it's all because of Claire!
If not for Claire, why would their family suffer so much?
In the past, they still supported and pampered her because of the compensation money, but now?
It's the sixth day of the disaster; what's the use of money?
At least 99% of people are aware that their former wealth has turned into nothing but bubbles, purely worthless numbers. Food and clean water are true wealth now!
So, would they still care about Claire?
Especially now that they've seen her true colors, it's all because of this despicable person?
Damn it!
Chris couldn't bear it anymore; he took off his slipper and started hitting Claire with it.
Claire dodged, but Dash and Dawn also joined in, quickly overpowering her, and the chaos ensued.
Claire's face was covered in blood, swollen like a pig's head.
Then, Chris picked up the phone and said in a flattering tone, "Eugene, we've delivered Claire to you. Can you give us a box of instant noodles and a box of water? How about it?"
Claire lay on the ground, groaning in pain, unable to speak.
She had betrayed herself like this!
However, she wasn't particularly surprised.
After being kicked out of her home twice, she should have been prepared for this.
"Brother-in-law, just bring my sister back, hehe, for a family reunion." Dash said from the side, rubbing his butt. It really hurt, burning hot, must have cracked.
How could Eugene agree to that?
He wanted this family to feel despair, to turn against each other, and eventually perish!
"Haha." He laughed heartily and hung up the phone.
Claire, oh Claire, enjoying the feeling of being betrayed by your own family, aren't you?
Chris looked at his daughter, getting angrier the longer he looked.
"Dad, I'm starving!" Dash said.
Not only did Garth and his crew ravage them, but they also used up the last bit of food and water in the house, so they had been hungry for a whole day.
Chris's gaze sharpened, "Tie up this bitch!"
Dash hesitated for a moment, "Dad, you don't mean to... eat sis, do you?"
Claire trembled all over, looking at Chris incredulously.
No... right?
Chris waved his hand, "Why are you asking so much? Just tie her up, where's all this nonsense coming from?"
"Oh." Dash fetched some ropes and, with Dash's help, tied up Claire.
Two big men, even though they had been hungry for a day, Claire couldn't match their strength, and besides, Claire had been hungry for a day too.
"Seth, let's go door to door and ask if anyone wants to have a go with your sister. Each time you do it, you'll get a pack of instant noodles or two pounds of rice, or a bottle of water." Chris finally revealed his intentions.
"Old man, are you crazy?" Dawn couldn't believe it, Chris actually dared to sell his daughter like this.
Chris glared at her, "Then you feed me!"
Dawn opened her mouth, but closed it again.
Dash was starving, regardless of whether Claire was his real sister or not, he immediately agreed, "Dad, you take odd-numbered floors, I'll take even-numbered floors."
"Okay." Chris agreed.
Claire no longer shed tears, her expression on her face completely numb.
What's worse than a broken heart?
This is it!
Seth had been under a lot of pressure lately, and it was getting worse.
At the beginning of the disaster, he concocted a lie that he had a relative working in the government and that the country had established a shelter to accommodate a very limited number of people to get through this disaster.
And he, he had three spots reserved in the shelter!
So, some people actually believed him and obeyed his orders, trying to please him, even offering up all their family's belongings.
There weren't many fools, only nine in total, and two of them were women.
Of course, he slept with them, but their looks were a bit average. But he wasn't someone important; having women give themselves to him for free, and he could play however he wanted, how could he not enjoy it?
However... as the days went by, food and water became scarcer and scarcer, but the promises he made were still unfulfilled. It had made those nine people anxious, asking the government every day when they would come to pick them up.
He was running out of new lies.
And once his scam was exposed... he would definitely be torn apart by the anger and despair of those nine people!
With things so chaotic now?
Is it strange to kill?
So, he had to come up with a solution, or else he might not even survive.
He gathered the nine people together.
