Go to the police station

Human resilience is truly remarkable. It's been 20 days, yet it seems like half or even more of the community is still alive.

If it weren't for the infighting among humans, the number of survivors might even be higher. Eugene couldn't help but marvel at this.

He lay in bed for a while before getting up. On the first floor, his leopard wagged its tail in greeting as he approached. Eugene smiled, tossed it two meat buns, then opened the door to the basement, carrying breakfast with him as he went down.

- Of course, he had confirmed it was safe through surveillance.

No matter when, the only one he trusted was himself.

Cathy and the other three slept deeply and peacefully.

Compared to the coldness of his own home, this place was much warmer. Wrapped in blankets, it was incredibly cozy. The only downside was the tight space. With just one bed for four people, it was definitely cramped. But compared to the warmth, this minor inconvenience was negligible.

The four women slowly woke up, preparing to freshen up and have breakfast. However, because it was so warm under the covers, they were scantily clad, and due to the tight space, their clothes were in disarray, some nearly rolled up to their armpits, revealing their curvy figures.

Seeing these four beautiful women so uninhibited in front of him, Eugene, who had fully recovered his energy after a night's rest, couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. Setting down the food tray, he laughed, "Let's have some morning entertainment!"

An hour later, breakfast was over.

Phew!

Shower first, then eat. Eugene suggested the four women watch a drama or read a novel or something, while he went up to the second floor. He couldn't always be with the four women. What could a man and woman do together with nothing much to do?

He had to restrain himself and not exhaust himself too much; otherwise, if he ended up hurting himself, he wouldn't be able to play for years to come.

People had to think long-term.

However, the temperature seemed to have dropped again. Eugene checked the thermometer. The room's temperature had dropped to 15 degrees, compared to 23 or 24 degrees earlier. He added some more firewood and checked the outside temperature. Minus 41 degrees! If it was this cold during the day, what about at night?

Eugene looked at the residential buildings outside. Those who survived till now were not easy, but it would become increasingly difficult to continue living. Without air conditioning, underfloor heating, or a fireplace, people could only rely on each other for warmth. This was barely enough. Therefore, today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, people freezing to death every day would be expected.

Eugene sighed but only briefly. He wasn't a savior and had no intention of becoming one. He just wanted to look out for himself and perhaps accommodate some beautiful women. After all, being alone was incredibly boring. Based on this thought, Eugene didn't send Cathy and the others back to their place. - They probably wouldn't last two days.

Although they didn't meet Eugene's definition of top-tier women, there were no other options now. When options were limited, standards naturally lowered. Moreover, the four women could only stay in the basement; Eugene wouldn't let them come upstairs.

During the day, the thick fog had cleared somewhat, with visibility reaching about 20 meters.

Should he go out and search for resources tomorrow?

Eugene wondered.

With the temperature so low, fewer people could go out. Exposed to such extreme cold, staying outside for about 20 minutes would damage the lungs or even lead to organ failure. Of course, staying in a car would be fine. Eugene figured that after modifying his car, keeping it warm wouldn't be a problem.

So, as long as he didn't stay outdoors for more than 20 minutes - no, for safety, he should limit it to less than 15 minutes.

Hmm, he'd also need to get a bulletproof vest and helmet from the police station.

Eugene decided to go out. One of the reasons he hesitated to stay in the villa was that he would always think about the four fairies below who were at his disposal. If he indulged himself further down there… Eugene worried he'd meet an early demise.

Why did so many ancient emperors have short lives? A significant part of it was due to indulgence leading to their deaths. A lesson from the past!

Since he was going out, he naturally needed to prepare well. Eugene didn't just wear his warmest winter clothes;

he also put on heating pads. After all, the temperature had dropped another 20 degrees since the last time he went out. It was not to be taken lightly.

He also prepared three days' worth of food and clean water in the basement.

In case he got delayed outside and returned to find four bodies or worse, only three survivors... the latter was even more horrifying.

Since he temporarily sheltered the four women at home, Eugene naturally didn't want them to starve or die of thirst. However, he still locked the door. So, if he died outside, they would accompany him in death.

"Took care of you all this time, if I die, it's only fair you accompany me," he thought.

He treated his leopard no differently. Eugene prepared a large amount of dog food and clean water for the leopard, instructing it to only eat one portion a day.

After training it for many days, the leopard understood even simple commands. It tugged at Eugene's pants while vigorously wagging its tail, seeming to persuade Eugene not to go out.

Eugene patted the leopard's head with a smile, then broke free from its embrace and walked out.

Starting the car, Eugene opened the door. Almost all the hail outside had stopped falling. After starting the engine and driving out, he immediately felt the car was skidding.

The road was too slippery!

The entire city had turned into a giant skating rink. And it was incredibly cold; even fully geared up, one could only stay outside for 15 to 20 minutes before their lungs would be damaged.

Eugene carefully drove out of the community. This scene naturally caught the attention of many, who looked on with both surprise and envy.

The good news was that the poisonous hail had almost stopped. The bad news was that the temperature had dropped again. Mystic Hills had never experienced temperatures below -10 degrees Celsius, so who could withstand such cold?

Adding more layers?

Even if they could, people would look and feel bulky. Moreover, the roads were slippery, and the ice was toxic. Last time many didn't return from searching for supplies!

Eugene had already checked the map and knew where the nearest police station was. A station, not a small outpost.

The closest police station was about 5 miles away. Eugene maintained a speed of about 20 miles per hour. There was no need to rush, right?

With a visibility of 15 to 20 meters, he could still see the road clearly.

"Turn left at the next intersection."

"Straight at the following intersection."

"... "

Eugene muttered to himself, looking at the temperature display in the car, which showed only zero degrees Celsius. He raised all the windows except for the windshield with a heat-insulating layer. The temperature inside immediately rose.

The windshield couldn't be covered since visibility was essential when driving.

After checking the temperature, it had risen to 10 degrees Celsius.

With the electric blanket on, he wouldn't feel cold at all.

"That's too fuel-consuming."

Eugene chuckled. Did he really need to worry about fuel anymore?

He'd move to a few more fuel stations today. Even though emptying one station could last him a long time, who would complain about having extra?

With his cautious nature, he probably needed to prepare fuel that could last several lifetimes.

Food and clean water were essential, and he couldn't lag behind in energy.

However, he first arrived at the police station.
