Cyberfriends - III

From the corner of her eye, Molly could still see the zebra, who was lingering near the trash cans. He sent another text from his phone.

Monica's phone buzzed again.

"Guess you couldn't make it?" Monica read. "I keep getting these texts from an unknown wrong number."

Molly grabbed the phone out of her sister's hands.

"Let me hold that," Molly said. "I don't want you to mess up your nails."

Monica and Molly walked through the mall arm in arm, window shopping enthusiastically on their way out.

"Love it," Monica said, taking a dramatic step toward a yellow dress draped over a headless mannequin.

While her sister drooled over the gorgeous gown, Molly took the opportunity to put her own cell phone into her bag. She felt a lot better once she'd done that; it was a miracle that Monica hadn't noticed that the supposedly wrong-number texts were for Molly.

"You know," Molly said. "Maybe just a vanilla ice cream cone. Since we're already here."
