11-'the farmer'

Several days later, Rosella was watching the flower that was placed inside a glass vase in an isolated room, and Heracles was standing close to her.

Rosella said:

“So what's the story of that flower? »

Heracles explained to her clearly:

“That flower belongs to the devil; in the past life Alexander was of tainted blood, so it is said that it belonged to him. For Satan to be able to harm you, you must commit a sin, and that flower was a temptation for the pure. They would pick it and it would die, or they would steal it. Then Satan would harm them, perhaps through a treaty that made you subject to him. But with Darven, it was different. You stole the flower and you belong to Darven. Now we cannot trust you. We must monitor you, just like Alexander, who is evil .”

Rosella remembered Alexander's order so she left that room and headed towards Alexander's room. Then she knocked on the door and he allowed her to enter.

Rosella walked in hesitantly, then went and sat next to him on the bed so he left the book he was reading nearby.

Alexander smiled at her:

“Lovely visit”

She smiled at him:

“I wanted to talk about some things.”

“I'm listening”

“You know that I am doing all this for my grandmother, and what I recently learned is that she did not agree to kill you and tried to prevent Darvin from doing so, so since I picked the flower, I ask you to know that I have no intention of killing you unless I discover later that you are a bad person, and since You will be banished anyway. I also ask you to help me get rid of the curse of that flower until the hundredth day! »

Alexander nodded and said gently:

“I have something in return”

"What is it?"

“If you find out that I am a bad person...kill me!” »

Rosella furrowed her eyebrows:

“You're asking me to kill you?”

“Yes, I hope it's just you who kills me! Maybe this will make up for your family for everything my family has caused you.”

Rosella stared at him for a while in silence, then raised her little finger and said:

"I promise you! »

Alexander stared at her finger with incomprehension. She remembered that this promise was invented in her contemporary world and did not exist in the past. She held his hand. Then Alexander smiled while Rosella intertwined her finger with his and smiled somewhat embarrassed because of his happiness. Then she said:

“This is how we make a promise in my world.”

Alexander laughed lightly:

"that's sweet"

She giggled too:

"Yes"

The clock struck midnight and the beginning of a new day, and Alexander said:

“My fortieth day has begun, sixty days remain.”

“I hope it ends well.”

Alexander spoke:

«You know? Your grandmother loved me.”

"What? »

"I am serious! Damianus told her a lot about me and she trusted him, so maybe that's why she didn't want to kill me.”

“Excuse me...but what is your relationship with Damianus, he was Hera's lover »

Alexander remembered that she didn't know about this yet and started telling her.

This was one day in the distant past, when Alexander hated himself, did not forgive himself, and started running in the forest while the rain was falling, the thunder was booming, and the lightning was striking the sky. He was running because he could not fly in that storm.

Alexander stumbled and fell to the ground and began to gasp, trying to catch his breath again. Then he heard the sound of footsteps behind him, and his eyes sparkled with a bright colour. He turned his head back in great anger. Then he saw a poor farmer carrying a lamp and smiling warmly at Alexander.

Alexander's eyes returned to their sky-blue color and softened. Then the light-bearded farmer spoke to him with a smile:

“Are you lost? »

This farmer's wings were so white and pure, like his clear golden eyes, he looked truly an angel, he seemed purer than all the Alexanders, Rodion, and all the princes.

Damianus took Alexander to his simple and modest house made of wood and was welcomed by Damianus's old mother in the yellow wool coat and Damianus's little sister with pigtails.

Alexander sat down and Damianos gave him a cloth to dry himself, then brought him a cup of coffee and an apple cake that his mother had made. They did not ask him anything until Alexander had eaten all his food and drank his coffee and became healthy and warm.

Alexander said in embarrassment:

“Thank you very much. I am grateful. I will make sure to reward you.”

Damianos said sarcastically:

"What? Will you give us a part of the Dorado, Prince?'

Alexander looked at him in surprise.

“Do you know that I am the prince? »

Damianos nodded:

“I hope you don't think I helped you to be indebted to me.”

“Then why did you help me? »

Damianos was silent for a moment, then answered simply:

“Because you are a human!” »

Alexander nodded in denial:

“We are all angels here, and I am also a prince.”

"prattle! “You are human because you sin.”

This time, Alexander was shocked because Damianos knew the truth about his tainted blood while it was impossible for anyone in Avalon to be guilty.

Damianos explained to him:

“I saw your red eyes, and I don't hate you, because just like I said, you're a human being!” »

Alexander remembered this speech by Damianos all his life. Everyone hated him, the illegitimate son of tainted blood who did not deserve to be in Avalon, the sinner and the murderer, but this simple farmer... he did not.

One day after that incident, Alexander headed near the Dorado family's land, hoping to meet this farmer again. He sat on the bank of the bright, fresh river, staring at the sunrise. Then he noticed someone sitting near him.

Alexander turned his face to Damianus, who said to him:

"The prince has returned"

Alexander smiled broadly and seemed genuinely happy and in much better shape than last time. Then he said to Damianus:

“I was hoping to see you.”

“I know, I don't forget!” Damianos winked, causing Alexander to laugh and say:

“So you're not afraid? »

"I'm a farmer, you know. I can kill you if I want."

“You are violent”

"maybe"

They both laughed, then Damianus said:

“On that occasion, I will turn to Hera today, Princess. Of the Dorado”

"Why? »

“She deals with me directly, as you know I am the most trusted peasant in the Dorados.”

“Are you bragging? »

Damianos laughed:

"Of course! It is expected that you have not met a girl from the Rodion family yet, but they are so beautiful and elegant, truly angels.”

“Are you in love? »

"YES! »

“Why are you telling me this? »

“Because we're friends now, right?”

Alexander quickly realized that Damianos had told him one of his secrets to make Alexander feel comfortable to talk about anything that was bothering him or the reason for his escape the previous time.

Alexander smiled sadly:

“Do you think I should be banished because I am a human? »

“Maybe, but that's not a bad thing. As long as you don't give in to this blood, you are, to me at least...an angel!” »

Alexander's body shivered and he felt that he had finally found someone who would accept him and help him. Then he smiled lightly and slept with his trunk on the grass so that Damianus did the same and they stared at the sky. Then Damianus said:

“I wish Hera were here now instead of you!”

Alexander laughed:

«I hope a girl from the Rodion family will fall in love with me! »

«Oh! You are in love with them too!! »

Days passed and that river bank was the safe place for Alexander and Damianus to be themselves and to talk about what was on their mind for several hours and to joke together, the place where Alexander could act spontaneously without being judged and the place where Damianus felt comfortable away from his work striving for the comfort of his old mother and his little sister.

Damianus was telling Hera about his new best friend as well when they both started dating and Hera loved Alexander because of Damianus' love for him and believed every Damianus talk no matter what was circulating in the kingdom.

Rosella felt very warm when Alexander told her about his relationship with Damianos and how he was like a father, brother, and friend to him. She felt warm because Damianos was a very nice person, easy to get close to, and friendly.

Rosella nodded:

"Okay, I'll believe you this time then. Hera loved you."

She stood up:

“Goodnight now.”

She waved him over with a smile.

Rosella returned to her room to sleep while Alexander kept staring at the hand that Rosella held and remembering the soft and warm feel of her hand and smiling warmly. He had heard a lot about the beauty of the Rodion family, and he had met Hera himself...but Rosella just looked beautifully different.

Maybe it was the girl from the Rodion family who would fall in love with him as he wished.

His smile faded as soon as he thought of this, with Rosella in Avalon, Alexander would have to be banished, so...this love, if it existed, would not work!

To be continued...
