Corruption

Alvin tripped over an unknown animal bone.

At the end of the grass is a large open space with a corrupted road sign suspended in the center.

"Finally found it! I just said that I won't go the wrong way!" Captain Murphy also breathed a sigh of relief.

Priest Minara did not respond to him, and walked straight to the beacon to observe: the originally golden beacon had turned into an ominous gray-black color, exuding a disgusting aura.

"Why did the sign become like this?" Captain Murphy frowned tightly.

Ivan was looking around: there were also some scattered animal bones on the ground, some were very dry, and some were stained with blood: "Is this the nest of a wild beast? Maybe the road sign was accidentally picked up by a wild beast. Destructive."

"No, according to Ms. Oreses and Ms. Salolas, the signposts here were destroyed from the inside out." Minara said, observing the signposts carefully.

"The top priority is to remove the old road signs and then place the new ones!" Captain Murphy looked at the sky: "It has been a long time and we don't have much time!"

"This beacon is floating in the air, how do we get it down?" Ivan was a little curious.

"There is another base underground. It should have been buried in the soil. Just dig out the base and destroy it." Captain Murphy took out a small shovel from the package.

Ivan placed the imprisonment beacon in his hand on the ground, took Murphy's shovel, and started digging under the corrupted beacon.

As soon as the shovel went down, Alvin felt that the soil below was particularly soft, like silt!

With a little force on the shoulders, a shovelful of soil was dug out: a stench spewed out from the ground!

"Damn it, this dirt smells so bad!" Ivan said, covering his nose.

Priest Minara and Captain Murphy did not respond to him. They both stared at the soil dug out by Ivan...

Aiwen followed the eyes of the two people and saw that it was dirt, but it was blood red! Ivan used the shovel to poke it open, and some organic tissue could still be seen vaguely inside: the source of the stench was found, Ivan swung the shovel a few more times, and dug out more things: sheep skulls, cow horns, and even some things that had not yet been discovered. Rotting animal eyeballs!

"So, this beacon was placed on the animal cemetery?" Ivan said.

"It's impossible. The placement of the sign requires good conditions. No one would place it where animal carcasses are buried!" Captain Murphy said in a deep voice while looking at the animal carcasses on the ground.

"Then these animals died here after the beacons were placed." Ivan reasoned according to Captain Murphy's words.

"As far as I know, except for animals with rudimentary intelligence such as thunder elephants, which will specially choose the cemetery when they die, I have never heard of argali sheep gathering together to die. Old argali sheep cannot escape the attack of steppenwolves at night! "Priest Minara added his own opinion.

Ivan stopped talking, but he thought of the tentacle he saw in Moon Shadow Valley after being drunk last time: Maybe there was a being in the cave who killed the beast dragged into the cave, and then sent the remains to the cave in some way. here!

Ivan was thinking about various possibilities, but Captain Murphy interrupted his thoughts: "Okay, anyway, what we have to do now is to destroy the corrupted beacon and replace it with a new one."

Minara once again cast a light shield on Alvin to isolate the stench on the ground. Alvin picked up the shovel and continued digging.

The shovel Captain Murphy brought over was a bit small, and it took Alvin a while to finally dig out the beacon base from the ground! At this time there was a big hole in the ground.

After throwing the base out, Alvin quickly climbed out of the pit. Although there was a light shield to block the smell, he still felt very sick.

After the base was thrown out, the beacon body floating in mid-air began to shake. As soon as Ivan climbed out of the pit, the beacon in the sky fell down - broken into pieces and scattered in the pit.

"The beacon made of metal is already so fragile!" Ivan looked at the fragments of the beacon on the ground: a black aura was constantly exuding from the fracture!

"We definitely can't put any more signposts in this place. We have to find a new place!" Murphy said, kicking a bone on the ground.

"Will the change of location affect the confinement effect of the beacon?" Ivan said with some concern.

"As long as it doesn't exceed too big a range, it won't have any impact!" Captain Murphy said.

After a pause, Captain Murphy said again: "Now we have to find a flat and relatively solid place nearby." Looking at the dense grass around him, Captain Murphy smiled and said: "Let's throw Priest Minara as hard as we can." Go to heaven!"

Ivan shook his head and said: "That will hit her!"

But Priest Minara came over and rolled his eyes at Alvin: "Never underestimate a spell caster!"

Alvin and Murphy each held one of Minara's feet: then the two of them exerted force together, and Minara was thrown vertically into the air!

Feeling that she had reached the highest point, the holy light flashed around Minara: her body suddenly became as light as a feather - the technique of levitation.

Taking advantage of the slow descent, Minara quickly observed the surrounding terrain...

After a while, Minara finally landed on the ground: "We need to have a small slope to the north. The top of the slope should be able to place a road sign!"

After packing their things, the three of them hurriedly headed north.

After another baptism of grass, the three people finally walked out of the dense grass.

Captain Murphy explored the surroundings and finally confirmed the location of the confinement beacon.

Aiwen placed the beacon on the ground upright according to Minara's request, and turned on the repulsion array on the base. In a burst of arcane fluctuations, the base separated from the beacon itself, slowly rose up, and finally suspended on the Mid-air: A light wave visible to the naked eye is emitted from the top of the beacon, and an invisible force spreads throughout the Moon Shadow Valley.

"It's done! I don't know how the other two teams have finished." Priest Minara said softly while looking at the beacon in mid-air.

"By the way, the arcane mark!" Captain Murphy suddenly thought of what Salolas said: a soft holy light hit the beacon, and the arcane mark attached to it slowly dissipated!

"It's time to set off to the innermost cave!" Ivan looked at the vaguely visible cave in the distance, feeling a little worried: what he saw and heard last time cast a shadow on him!

"Hurry over there, maybe we will be the first to arrive!" Captain Murphy checked the confinement sign for the last time, and several people left the hillside.

Although the journey this time is farther than before, the road conditions are much better! The three of them, Alvin, walked through a sparse forest, and then walked through a gravel field and arrived.

"It seems we are not number one anymore!" Ivan said looking at the Eredar twins sitting on the ground resting in the distance.
