Caroline stood in a beautiful white gown in front of her sisters and future cousin-in-law. Seeing their faces, she wished her mother was here. It was a pity that her mother could not make it. Maybe it was for the best as her sisters tended to tense up whenever their mother was in the room. She understood why. Their mother could be a bit too much to handle. But Caroline also understood that their mother had their best interests at heart.
Caroline understood that Josephine did all that was in her power to ensure that her daughters got what was once their birthright. If they married into royalty, they got the statuses that were once snatched away from them. If they married into the royal family of Vershia, they got to experience what could have been theirs all along. They got to raise their future children, Josephine's future grandchildren in the grander that they could have been raised in.
