Perhaps it was the first time Hael had seen Luiza break from her meek and timid personality. Although it had not been a day since they arrived at River Moon, she was visibly uneasy.

"It indeed is a dangerous investigation, which is why Ellie was supposed to be," he replied. He paused. "There are many treacherous things involved, but as I said from the time we entered this town, trust in me even if you do not trust yourself." His eyes darkened.

Luiza felt wordless. She did not accept his words, for trust was just a ruthless play of words. But the man in front of her was not a helping man she knew; he seemed as ferocious as the beasts who were hidden in the town.

"It," she breathed very heavily. "It's all crap." She aggressively left the room without truly sharing her thoughts.
