Shattered Window

The morning sun bathed Ivan's main mansion in a warm, golden light as everyone returned. Everly immediately rushed towards the plush couch in the first-floor living room and collapsed onto it with a contented sigh, the soft cushions cuddling her.

"Oh, I've missed this couch," she sighed, stretching luxuriously. "These past few days in the other estate felt like forever."

Ivan joined her, settling down beside her and wrapping his arm around her waist. His eyes, filled with a playful glint, roved over her face. "You know," he tone instantly switched to a teasing one, "I miss you each passing minute that you're not next to me."

Everly blushed and gave him a light shove, but she couldn't stop the smile that tugged at her lips. She leaned into his embrace, enjoying the feeling of his strong arms around her.

"Well, aren't you going to freshen up at least?" he asked, smiling at her.
