LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL
It was a Monday Morning and Pearl was in a haste because she was running late and Joan and her mum were waiting for her outsíde in the car.
"Dad..!!! Is breakfast ready..? Am running late.. "
She said stamping her feet's in a hurry running down stairs.
" Ohh my dear almost ready.."..…...."Good morning Dad.. but you know am late and I won't be able to eat breakfast.." ...." Morning dear, am sorry dear I woke up late as well,but you can take the sandwich I have already package it up for you dear " ...
.." Ok dad thanks alot you are the best. " She smiled as she said hugging him goodbye and he kissed her on her forehead...."You're welcome my princess, anything for you, so be good ok and pls promise me you will stay out of trouble..!!! "
..." Okay dad I promise...!!! Alright bye dad, love you...!!!" .. she said running straight for the door..
"Okay bye my princess and love you too..!!!..have a great day in school "... ..He said raising his voice so loud as he starch his head for her to hear him.
... "Isn't she just growing so fast...?" .. he thought to himself and smilled.
Out side,in a Blue Honda car packed out side pearl's house,... "Pearl hurry,...,!!!! we are going to be late".
Pearl quickly got into the car and immediately the car started and off they go. ... "Good Morning Mrs Norah...!!".... " Good Morning my Darling how are you and how's your daddy...!!!?" ..... "We are doing great ma thank you for asking..".... She replied with a smiling face.
"You are welcome my dear, so..o..I don't know if Joan has told you...!! We will be having a party at our house tomorrow after school and it will really be nice if you'd come and maybe sleep over...".. she saíd expecting an answer.
.."Ohh wow that will be so nice, well Joàn didn't mention that,I guess she missed that part, if you don't mind me asking,what's the celebration about ma....?? "
"It's okay dear, it's our wedding Anniversary and I am so happy.. " ..she said smiling with excitement in her face. " Congratulations ma, I will try ma but I will have to ask my dad too if that's okay ..?.. "
" You will try....!?Okay then you can ask, but I would really love you and your dad to come as well..."... She said looking almost disappointed already....
"Hold on a minute I guess I will have to ask your dad myself...hmmm...!!". She said with her hand on her jaw in thought...."But another reason I wanted you to come is that I don't want Joan to be or feel lonely..? She said as she looked at the front mirror to see Joan's reaction.
"Ohh mum you know pearl doesn't like crowdy places,noise and anything Party, but not to worry mum leave that to me I will handle that....". she said as she smiled putting her hand on her chest showing she could handle it,with her suspicious face. ...
"Okay then guys I will leave that to you, so here we are... " ... She pulled over opposite the school gray gate... Which is boldly written ..LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL...
"Alright guys see you later and take care of yourselves, Joan ..!!! Look after pearl okay..?". Her mum said in a warning look..,"Yes mum I will, am the boss"...Joan replied as they laughed over it, they both came down and said their good-byes and off they went, into the school gate.
As they went in the bell Rang for a meeting with all the students.
"Ring-a-ling-a-ling....!!! "..Ring-a-ling-a-ling...!!! " ..the bell kept on ringing as they all went to the hall, and a tall dark man about 5 feet tall walk in and stood in front of all the students with a pulpit and a microphone on it in front of him.
..." Good Morning great student of this great school..... " .... A deep voice spoke out so loud in Authority, giving out information to the students...
"Good morning sir...!!!"....they all replied in chorus as he continued...
"As you all know I am Mr George Albert your principal, and I want to inform you all to do your best and be of good behavior in this session, I will not tolerate any form of unseriousness, lousiness and rebellion amongst you all, and if I find out any..then there will be a great consequences, understood..?.. "
..." Yes Mr Principal....!!! " .. they replied.
He pointed to his right and to his left and said..."Here we have Mrs Ella Derek, the student counselor, you can go to her for anything concerning your studies and all., " ..... On his right was an advance lady, 5 feet tall standing...
" Here is Sir Simeon Harry one of the teachers , so pls be respectful and of good behaviors, Am I clear...!!!?"....as he said and they replied, ." Yes Mr Principal...!!!". ....on his left was a single young man about 6 feet tall, light skin and was sure good looking.
"Okay then dismissed...!!!". He said as he left the hall, and the student followed immediately to their different classes.
As Pearl and Joan was walking to their class, everyone kept on looking as they passed, till she felt a touch on her shoulder, it was Sam.
"Hey pearl...!!!" He said as he tapped her on her shoulder and she turned back... "Hi..!!!...sam..!!!"... She said in response. "I was looking out for you, how are you..? "... He said with a smirk on his face waiting for a response, while she stood looking at him.
...."I... I am fine ...!!!" .before Sam could say any thing further Joan jumped in ... "She is fine can't you see that, what do you want, stay away from us we don't want to get into trouble with your so called girlfriend Olivia..so if you may excuse us..!!!"
She said with her two hands honking in mockery as she dragged Pearl's hand and went away into their class. Sam stood in perplexity and hurt, but he said to himself...
"No I won't, l like you pearl and I won't give up I have waited for long." he said encouraging himself and went to his class, he is in grade 11 while she is in grade 10, he has liked pearl from when he was in grade 9 and she was in grade, he wasn't looking like he is going to give up.
He hoped to meet her alone because he became scared of Joan and what may become of him if she ses him with her.
Few hours later...!!
... 'Ring-a--ling-a-ling.....!!!' the bell Rang again and it was lunch time and everyone went to the cafeteria to get something to eat.
"What do you want so I can get it for you at the cafeteria...!?..". Joan asked because pearl was still distracted looking at her book... "Hmm..!!! I want a Soda...a soda will do, dad packed some sandwich for me .. " ....."Ohhh ok then i will be right back"
Joan stepped outside heading to the cafeteria to get what they will eat. Meanwhile Sam was walking and sneaking around like he doesn't want to get caught, he was looking for Pearl's Class room hoping to see her, from afar he saw joan going out of the classroom and he hid himself.
He smiled because he felt he was right on time. He headed to the class swiftly, and he saw Pearl sitting at the opposite direction of the door with her book held up covering her face, Sam came close to her and sat in front staring at her for a while but she still didn't notice.
He had to look for something to do for her to notice his presence, and he saw just the right thing to use, which was her pen, so he throw her pen on the ground but it felt like she didn't notice, but pearl felt something has falling down.
So with the book still on her face she used one hand searching for the object that fell on the ground but she still couldn't reach it, then Sam sized the opportunity to bend down and picked it and gave it to her, at that moment she felt a warm sensation on her hand .
And she immediately looked down to see what was that and there she saw Sam warm smile... She was shocked and surprised to see him...,"what are you doing here ...!!!?" She asked and he stood up still smiling and replied .
" I came to say hi... And to talk to you.." ... "And what's that you want to talk to me about,…?" She said so straight up.."Well I wanted to apologize for what happened at the party the other and let you know that I have nothing with olive she just want attention.. "...
. " That is not any of my problem " .. she said frowning as she remembered what happened that day.
"Pls am sorry and I just wanted us to be friends and I promise, you won't be in any trouble..". He said almost kneeling down and making a puppy face with his hands together...She felt he meant not harm and it will be a chance to make a new friend but ßhe was scared that she will be called names .
Then she said .. "I don't think so, besides am just a weirdo and a nerd like every one calls me.." .. she said in rejection.. "Ohh no you are not, they just don't see what I see..."... "And what do you see? May be you will join them when you finally see what they see" .. she said as she rolled her eyes in dissatisfaction ...
"No ohh..!!! Common pearl you are Smart, Beautiful and so intelligent thats what they don't see..!!!". ...
..He said as he stood up to demonstrate his emotion, while Becky ànd Fiona her classmates was at the back watching, they were so annoyed because they knew it was truth but they could not contain the truth so they walked up to her and said.
.. .. "Of course she is with her face like thàt of a lifeless chicken.. hahahah...!!!" Becky said and Fiona joined in laughing as they walked pass.
But Sam didn't see thàt coming he was short óf word enough not to be able to stand up for pearl, pearl on the other hand was so sad and upset and she tried to stand up to walk away and he held her back.
.. "Pearl pls hold on don't listen to them ok, they are lunatics, but pls just sày yes you will be my friend..".. Same said as he held her on both shoulders but she replied
.. "No...!!! I don't want to ..!!! " But at least think about it okay..? " .Sam saíd in a hopeful tone.." Or just maybe I will not...!!! how about that.? " ... She said as she shocked his hands off her shoulder and walked away leaving him in shock.
Sam Stood there with hís hand on his forehead in frustration saying he won't give up as he walked away to his class.
On the main time Joan has gotten what she needed for her and pearl, so Joan was heading to thé class when she met pearl and they both went to the class.
Few Hours later.....the classes was over and school has dismissed. Joan and Pearl waited for her mum to come pick them from School.....!!!!
