Maverick glanced at the position of the cashier counter and then circled around to a wall outside. This spot was separated from the convenience store counter by just one wall, allowing him to execute his plan without harming the hostage.
The robbers inside the convenience store were oblivious to what was happening. The man behind the counter continued to hold the cashier at gunpoint while keeping a vigilant eye on his surroundings, watching out for potential dangers.
*Boom!*
Suddenly, a hole appeared in the wall, and a fist punched through, sending the robber who was surveying the area flying out. In the process, the one rummaging through the cash register was also knocked to the ground.
Then came the sound of something being torn apart. The wall, which originally had just one hole, was torn open to create a large opening big enough for a person to pass through.
A black figure with a hood covering its face emerged from the hole and uttered a calm, hoarse voice to the trembling cashier on the ground, "Quick, get out of here."
The cashier, seeing this, wasted no time. His obese body, usually sluggish, suddenly became agile as he quickly darted out of the hole Maverick had created.
"You've finally come," the man who had just been punched by Maverick stood up, rubbing the spot where he had been hit. He smirked, as if he had anticipated this all along.
Upon hearing this, Maverick furrowed his brows instantly, not understanding what the other person meant.
Just as he was feeling puzzled, Venom's warning system in his mind suddenly began to emit intense alerts. Sensing danger, he immediately dodged to the side.
Almost instantly, countless bullets rained down from the hole behind him, relentlessly chasing after him as he continued to dodge.
The three robbers quickly retreated a few steps and then grabbed the submachine guns from their bags, pouring bullets toward Maverick, who was now cornered.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Bullets kept firing, even shattering the walls, turning them into airborne dust.
Two minutes later, the robbers' magazines finally emptied. They looked at the now ruined convenience store and exchanged solemn remarks, "The plan went smoothly. With so many bullets hitting him, even if he were Spider-Man, he'd be riddled with holes."
The chubby cashier standing beside them chuckled, "I didn't expect it to be this simple. With so much commission, I thought this task would be difficult."
The robber who had just been pointing a gun at his head, still wearing a mask, also remarked, "Looks like your acting skills aren't bad at all. Didn't let him see through the loophole."
The chubby cashier chuckled proudly at this remark, "Of course not. Before I got into this line of work, I always wanted to be an actor. If those directors hadn't thought my image was too poor, I might have won the Oscar for Best Actor by now."
It turned out that this chubby cashier was in cahoots with the robbers. They staged this whole act to lure Maverick over.
"You're such a bullshitter. Talking about winning an Oscar. I could even be the best director. The videos I made with those chicks before, everyone who watched said I found the right angles," the man who had been pretending to rob the goods laughed and scolded. "This fatty loves to brag."
After cursing, he chuckled lasciviously as if remembering something, "Hehehe, now we can all get a good share of the money. Let's go have some fun later. I've been holding it in for a long time."
The robber in charge of the cash register frowned uncomfortably and said, "I think I twisted my waist just now."
Hearing this, the person pretending to rob the goods patted his shoulder and teased, "Looks like you won't be having fun tonight, but it's okay. I'll play an extra round for you."
Before he could finish his sentence, a black tentacle suddenly appeared, smashing his head, and in an instant, both red and white splattered onto the face of the robber who had twisted his waist.
The lower half of his face still had the lecherous grin frozen on it, but the upper half had become as mushy as a broken watermelon.
Since he had lost his life, the smiling lower half of his face also twisted and fell onto his chest with a click, before collapsing stiffly to the ground.
The robber who had twisted his waist froze in horror as his face was covered in fresh blood and brain matter, even emitting steam from the warmth.
"Ahhh!!!" A scream finally escaped his mouth as he quickly turned to seek help from his remaining two teammates, only to find two bodies with their heads smashed in.
"Ahhh!!!" A more desperate cry rang out as the instinct for survival urged him to get out of there quickly, but as soon as he took a step, he slipped on the sticky blood on the ground and fell.
Just as he struggled to get up, a black tentacle wrapped around his neck and body, lifting him up from the ground.
The tentacle around his neck felt slippery and cold, tightening with each twist, making it difficult for him to breathe.
At the other end of the tentacle, a figure in black with a hood emerged slowly from the dissipating dust, his body still intact, not even touched by the dust.
How is this possible?! Seeing the masked monster appear unscathed before him, the surviving robber widened his eyes in disbelief. How could so much firepower, so many bullets, leave no trace on him?
Damn it! The hefty sum of money wasn't given for nothing. The person before him was no ordinary man, even more troublesome than the other masked heroes like Spider-Man.
"Tell me who set up this trap to ambush me," a hoarse, icy voice emanated from under the hood, those pale eyes staring intensely at the immobilized robber, sending shivers down his spine.
Maverick suppressed his anger, waiting for the robber's answer. Being ambushed was one thing, but what was crucial was that while he was being bombarded by bullets, the wall of the storeroom was also riddled with bullets, revealing a body hidden inside.
That body was a young man wearing only underwear and a cap. There was a bullet hole in his cap and forehead, with a frozen expression of fear on his face.
Clearly, this body was the real cashier. The chubby one outside who had been shivering in fear was one of the robbers wearing his clothes. No wonder the clothes looked a bit tight, and the cap on the body couldn't be worn anymore because it had been pierced by a bullet.
