86 Klaus is Here

Emilia’s POV

Cold. It's so cold.

I felt like a piece of driftwood floating on the surface of the sea, my body swaying with the waves. Damp moisture submerged my neck, leaving only the tip of my nose exposed, struggling to breathe.

Why? Why am I here? What did I do wrong to be thrown into the sea?

My thoughts were hazy, like I had forgotten something important. Father? Mother? Are you there? I'm so cold, help me.

I moved my lips, but my throat ached terribly. I wanted to shout, but instead swallowed mouthfuls of seawater. My limbs, weak and bound by the water, drifted aimlessly. I forced my eyes open and saw the sky in a dark, dreary gray. The sky was draped in a fine, persistent rain, and the sea around me stretched out endlessly.

A wave surged from the distance, and I was swept away like a leaf in the tide. My mouth and nose were once again filled with seawater, and this time, I had no chance to surface.

I'm going to die here, I thought.
