The next day, Adam left his hometown and joined the Imperial College of Einsteins. As he entered the college campus, his eyes searched for just one person, Rose.

While walking around the campus, an unknown rush emerged from the lab, causing all the students to start rushing away from it. Adam felt tense but realized that Rose might still be in the lab and unable to get out. So, he ran towards the lab and found three teachers, Rose, and another guy discussing something.

A boy came running out of the lab, and Adam asked, "Wait, what's happening here?"

Richy replied, "The thermoelectric generator has gone out of control."

Adam asked, "Where are you all going?"

Richy said, "Towards the safehouse, don't you know."

Adam explained, "I'm new here, and today is my..."

Richy interrupted, "Okay, I understand. Now run..."

Adam hesitated, "But why aren't those people inside running for the safehouse?"

Richy explained, "They were part of the project and are trying their last attempt to stop it. Now run..."

Adam glanced at the reactor through the window glass.

Richy ran to the safehouse.

Adam thought, "It seems the thermoelectric generator here is gaining more heat as time passes. But what can I do? Think, Adam... It's a thermogenic reactor, its work is to convert thermal energy to electrical energy... But now it's getting heated, which means it's sucking energy... From where? Doesn't matter... Let me turn off the internal power circuit. No, it's not that simple... The entropy is rising, so to reduce its enthalpy, we need a disposer as well as a power break."

Adam entered the lab and saw a circuit next to a teacher. He realized the teacher was not turning it off and wondered if there was another switch.

Adam asked, "There is one switch, but why isn't he turning it off? Is there another one?"

Adam turned to the teacher and asked, "Sir, instead of trying to turn off the generator, turn off the power circuit!"

The teacher, surprised, asked, "Were you in this project?"

Adam replied, "Nope, today's my first day!"

Ryan exclaimed, "Sir, this generator is now out of control! It can blast any second now! We must take cover!"

The teacher pointed to a panel behind a door and said, "Turn off that switch first."

Ryan turned off the power, and the generator stopped, but it was still turning red with heat.

Adam quickly grabbed the computer and input a code to dispose of the heat generated to the CHS.

Adam exclaimed, "Situation under control... Whew!"

Rose asked, "How did you know that?"

Adam replied, "Just some rational thinking, I guess."

The teacher asked, "What's your name, new boy?"

Adam replied, "Adam, Adam Ilym."

The teacher praised, "You did well today! Ryan, announce to resume the works to those in the safehouse!"

Ryan agreed and left to make the announcement.

Adam asked, "May I ask you something, sir?"

The teacher agreed.

Adam asked, "You knew how to stop the generator the whole time but didn't stop it. Am I right?"

Rose looked at her teacher in confusion.

Rose asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Adam explained, "He was standing right next to the secondary power circuit the whole time if you haven't noticed yet."

Rose looked closely and saw the secondary circuit lever hidden behind him.

Rose asked, "But why?"

The teacher explained, "It's a part of your education, students! What if this type of situation arises? How will you deal with it? This is the school for Einsteins where we don't just do theory stuff; we perform it practically!"

Rose realized, "I guess we failed this time."

Ryan said, "But wasn't it a reckless practical? People would have been hurt if I didn't turn off that switch."

The teacher scolded, "Control your tongue and head. You couldn't get anything to stop it, but Rose applied some programmings to stop it. So that's enough for Rose to pass, but you failed. I will have to replace you with someone else."

Ryan protested, "Don't you dare do that!"

The teacher concluded, "Earn back your position. Until then, this new boy is partnered with Rose."

Ryan left the lab furiously.

Adam asked, "Sir, without offense, may I know what's this partnership thing?"

The teacher explained, "Rose, explain to him about the college's ways and give him a tour. I have some other tests to take. By the way, new boy, you have passed your first-year session."

Adam stood there a bit confused and nervous.

Adam asked, "Ah, hello!"

Rose looked at him sharply.

Adam nervously said, "I am sorry if I offended you two. I didn't intend to break your partnership... I..."

Rose interrupted, "Shut up."

Adam nodded.

Rose explained, "Here in this college, experiments are done in partnerships, but the complexities of experiments determine your marks. You need to have great ideas to survive here. By far, I and Ryan have been the highest-scoring students in all activities, and today a single mistake of his has landed him in failure."

Adam exclaimed, "Woah."

Rose continued, "Today evening we have the hypothetical class, so better think of some good ideas or get ready to leave this partnership. I don't want to be second, so you better make it."

Adam chuckled, "Heh... By the way, what subject does that teacher teach us?"

Rose replied, "Practical exams, hypothetical class, and he is the trustee too."

Adam asked, "I see. He said that I have passed the first session. What did he mean by that?"

Rose explained, "Any student who shows quality is given the honor of advancing a session even without exams. You came here through the talent search competition, so you would have to study from the first session, although you might have completed it. But now you are in the second session! Basically, you have entered this college without any loss if you had just completed your first session from your previous college."

Adam exclaimed, "It's like I am having a dream."

Rose said, "Come, the hypothetical class will start in 20 minutes. You better think of something good."

Adam wondered, "What? But you said it was in the evening."

Rose corrected, "Did I say so? I am sorry then." (grins)

They walked off to their class while Adam tried to think of some ideas.

But will Adam be able to think of any ideas?

Will Adam be able to win Rose's heart?

Has the time come for the happy ending of Adam?
