chapter60 dawn

Asher was shirtless. Scarlett touched his back, feeling a sticky dampness. When she looked at her fingers, she saw red spots, and her heart ached. The rocket launcher's powerful blast had caught Asher, injuring his back despite his leap outside. Fortunately, it was only a minor wound for him. The hidden assassin inside the house was ready to strike, reporting to his comrades, "The target is still alive, retreated outside."

Before Scarlett could react, a barrage of bullets came their way, more intense than a sudden downpour. The potted plants in the hallway were shattered. Asher, with his keen sense for bullets, quickly shielded Scarlett and hid in a corner of the wall. He positioned himself in front of Scarlett, raised his submachine gun, and used his senses to detect the enemy. There were a few inside the house, one upstairs and two downstairs. He needed to take them out and hide Scarlett safely first.
