chapter67 Compensation

During the day, Scarlett's father was at work. Scarlett lied to her mother, saying she was going to meet a friend. She grabbed her bag and left, walking less than a hundred meters to the right of the community gate, where a taxi was parked. As she approached, the car door opened, but Scarlett still pretended to ask for a ride, as if she were just an ordinary passenger. Then she quickly got into the car.

Inside the car, Asher hugged her tightly. "I've been waiting for you forever. You're so slow."

"My mom wanted to go to Aunt Emma's place next door to play cards. She insisted I wait and leave with her, so I got down late," Scarlett explained.

"Let's go to my place first," Asher told the driver the name of the hotel, instructing him to take a detour.

"Let's go shopping first," Scarlett suggested, tugging on Asher's clothes.

"We'll go shopping after lunch at the hotel," Asher said firmly.
