chapter69 Friend

Asher left the store with his shopping bag and headed to the supermarket. He picked out an umbrella and bought some snacks for Scarlett, choosing each item himself. Although he could have had these things delivered with a phone call, it felt more fulfilling to do it personally. Daniel was standing at the foot of the hotel steps, occasionally looking up. He held a bound project proposal in his hand, the hardcover slightly creased from his grip. He had waited like this before, and the gloomy weather added a hint of chill to his face.
