Just as they hurried to the car park where the van was situated, Duke paused on his track on receiving a notification from his superhuman system. The others noticed him abruptly stopping and turned back to face him, concern etched on their faces.

'What's wrong, Duke?' Nadia asked, her hand on her gun.

Duke's eyes scanned the surrounding area, his system on high alert. "We have company. Multiple hostiles closing in on our position. It might be too late to use the van now."

Grimgold and Ryker instinctively moved to flank Duke, their eyes scanning the rooftops and alleyways. Tyler's heart raced as he realized they were surrounded.
