CHAPTER 28
The safe house was dimly lit; the only light was the thin glow of the computer screens, which cast eerie shadows across the walls. The team was slumped around a large table, exhausted but resolute. They had just foiled Hale's extremely complex heist, but the threat was anything but over.
Elara swept her gaze across the team before her, holding on to each of them. "We did good tonight. But we can't let our guard down. Hale will come back stronger. We need to be ready for anything."
Blake nodded gravely. "Agreed. We should level up our defenses and find more intel on Hale's operations. We cannot afford to get caught flat-footed again."
Maya finally looked up from the security logs she had been pouring over. "I found something interesting. There were multiple attempts at breaching our own facility tonight. It looks like Hale's network is trying to get their hands on the quantum device."
