Chapter LXXII - Shopping (part 1)

Today is Friday.

It's the perfect day for a walk, and today I'm going with the girls to roam around the city.

Before we split up last night, Cony and Valey decided to meet up at my inn before we went out. They wanted to visit my room because they haven't done that. I allowed them, and now I'm simply waiting for them.

They agreed to come a little bit after the first bell, which is very early. But most shops had already opened after the first bell, which is very convenient because most shops in my world opened at eight or nine.

The small amount of lazy people here simply shocks me.

I waited for them by reading today's newspaper. I was surprised because I saw a familiar name. 

The headline of today's newspaper was, 'Ascendance of the Amila Family to Earl'.

'It was all thanks to Lyona, their youngest daughter. Lyona was able to solve the issue on Veldonia by helping in defeating the rebellion group. She was aided by the knights of Mazino, along with the help from an unknown helper known as "The Devil Mask" on Veldonia.

While the Devil Mask her/himself was unknown to young Lyona, it was also known that the Devil Mask also fought Veldonia's greatest group of rankers called the Trio of Destruction. It was unclear as to why the Devil Mask fought against them, but according to young Lyona, the Trio of Destruction was about to hurt the knights of Mazino, so the Devil Mask came to the rescue.

When asked about the Devil Mask, young Lyona only answered, "The Devil Mask is a good person".'

I read the content of the news in my head, and while reading, I'm grinning like some pervert seeing porn pictures.

Well done, Lyona. You have done greatness for your family.

The girls came after I finished reading the newspaper. By the time they knocked on my door, I had already bathed, cleaned up my room, and worn my casual outfit. It's a custom for having guests, which surprises them.

"Woah, this is quite spacious."

"You say that, even after knowing your room is ten times larger than this?"

Valey was knocked out cold after Cony said that. Certainly, this room is quite big compared to other inns. This is after all, quite the expensive one.

"Don't you have any decorations, Rize?"

Cony asked me when she checked out my table. There's nothing but books I somewhat borrowed from the Office and haven't returned, stacked on the edge.

"Maybe I should get one today. What do you think?"

"Hmm, you certainly need some lights. Just that ceiling light will hurt your eyes, you know?"

She is certainly right, but I don't feel like I should wear glasses anymore.

We decided to buy some decorations for my room later and stopped by at a decoration shop or something. When I asked where it was, none of them knew.

So much for getting decorations, I guess.

After checking out the room, we decided to start moving out. First we visited the clothing shop to get me some new attires.

Even though it's hot now, autumn will be starting soon. And they warned me about how autumn will be very cold in Mazino, so I will need some thick wool clothes.

I bought a couple long sleeved shirts that looked like a sweater for autumn, all of them are black. Then I also bought some baggy pants that are twice the size of my legs, but have the perfect length all the way from my hips to my ankle. From outside, this pants looks huge, but it's because it's very thick. 

Their colors are also quite dark.

I also grabbed a few pairs of thin gloves, because either cold or warm, I always wanted to at least not be that different when I'm holding any item I am using. Like holding a sword with and without gloves is very weird. The reason I haven't used my sword yesterday is because it's just difficult to use swords with thick gloves.

I also have decided to cut the edges so that my fingers can show a little. Cony and Valey thought it was cool and decided to grab some pairs as well.

Aside from that, I also bought a dark blue waterproof robe because my previous one got struck by thunder, then got burned out thanks to the sun's collapse.

It's waterproof, but it's not fireproof. I should probably find a cloth that is both.

I'm not going to find a mask here, so after paying the bills, we headed out and went to the next store, which is the adventurers shop.

Cony and Valey decided to stock up their magic energy drinks since they ran out of those during their stay at the dungeon. I also bought some items that I thought would be useful since I'm practically rich now.

After buying a ton of stuff, we headed back out again.

We arrived at a convenience store. Cony and Valey stocked up their canned food, while I ordered some snacks. I also get a pair of quill and tint so I can write mails.

I have a list on my mind on who I should write to.

The day went on, and we kept on buying stuff until the second bell rang. We decided to stop by and eat at Hod's again. We will never get old eating here (we get large and permanent discounts).
