Chapter CX - Shooting Game (part 2)

Manda is in action again. Now that the sniper is gone, she can move a lot freely. An opponent pops from the left, and she quickly ducked and shot. But it missed, and her opponent was able to find cover. She stood up and got into cover as well.

Manda took a deep breath before she stood up and peeked a shot, but by the time she showed her face, she got shot on the forehead.

BARR!!

"Manda, out."

The teacher announced again. Manda left the arena, and the game continued. The two students are facing each other from behind the pillars. Every time they had a chance, they always fired. And yet, the two are still going.

"Maybe it's time to switch it back."

I said to the teacher next to me, and teacher Fergulus understood. With a single swipe of his hand, the stone pillars that reached for the sky started to go down.

Seeing that the stone pillars were dropping down, the two students in the game quickly prepared.

And when the pillars go down, the two of them are peeking.

BAR!!

BARR!!

Two shots fired, only one hit.

One of them fell backwards from getting shot in the head. The shot was quite painful, and since he wasn't preparing for the attack, it took him quite shockingly.

"The winner is Alden!"

Teacher Malindey announced, and the guy named Alden moved on to the second game.

The next games are quite similar, but some students actually went all out. Jericho, for example, is not one to like staying still. She jumped from place to place, shooting the students. She won by shooting her opponents when they weren't quite prepared and got surprised, a truly barbaric method.

And once the battles ended, the five winners were decided and pitted against each other. Jericho is one of them, and Elmone the class president as well.

Now the five are going all out in the arena.

Teacher Fergulus is going even smarter with his arena modifying technique. He plays the arena around more often in this final game.

While rocks were moving everywhere, Jericho leaped from one rock pillar to another. Her eyes spotted a target, and immediately fired.

But the other student wouldn't be so careless. He ducked just in time and shot back at Jericho as a counter attack. The bullet hits Jericho on the stomach, causing her to fall from her leaps.

"Jericho, out!"

Teacher Malindey announced, and Jericho left the arena with a stomach ache. She walked next to me and I healed her tummy.

"Did I do good?"

"Yes. Though, you are too careless."

"I see."

She then headed to the rest of the students and leaned her back to the wall right next to where Manda was standing. The two conversed while watching the battle.

Elmone is surprisingly a good shooter. His shots are nearly accurate, though his opponents were able to hide quickly. The student he is battling peeked and shot very quickly, it barely gave him any time to strike him.

Then, he decided to rush in.

BAR!!

Sadly, the battlefield isn't only for two people.

From his right across the field, another student was already aiming at him. And he got shot on the knee.

"Elmone, out!"

The students went wild when Elmone ran out of the arena. They said Elmone has done great, but I think they only did it because he's the class rep.

"You shouldn't have come out there."

I said as I healed his knee.

"Oh well… I tried."

The class president then left to the crowd.

Now it's a one versus one. Honestly I'm surprised the two are girls.

The two females tried to find each other by moving around the battlefield. And when they saw each other, they quickly hid behind a cover, without a single fire shot.

Teacher Fergulus thought this might be a good time. He took down all the pillars, and lifted the covers all the way up. Now it's like a labyrinth of a battlefield.

BAR!!

BARR!!

Sounds of gunfire can be heard as the two tried their best to shoot. And yet not a single bullet hits.

The girl who shot the class president used Jericho's tactics and parkoured to the top. When she arrived on the top, she studied the ground silently. But she couldn't find the opponent.

BAR!!

The gun was shot, and she fell to the ground. Her opponent was behind her all along, on the ground, hidden behind the tall pillar.

"Maneil, out. Winner, Bonzie."

The students quickly rushed to the arena and congratulated Bonzie. Even though there's nothing to gain from winning, pride is still everything.

"I guess that was all for today. Please return the tools to teacher Malindey. Everyone, thank you for enjoying today's class."

The students clapped to teacher Fergulus, and they all decided to go back to the dorm.

"Wait!"

A shout can be heard from one of the students. It's the class president, Elmone.

"Everyone! I wanted to speak with you before we left. So… can everyone stay please?"

Elmone said to the whole class, and they all muttered some words. Elmone nodded at the teachers, and the teachers excused themselves to leave.

I moved up and stood next to Elmone, which got everyone confused.

"Everyone… I have a statement to make."

The students quickly opened their ears and listened to the class president's words. Elmone took a deep breath before finally saying a rather bold statement.

"We… are going to beat class A!"
