"Listen up. Aiming is easy. The real issue is with the tool."
I said as I explained to the small group of students that asked me when I got to the back, while pointing at the target.
"To aim, you just need to simply enchant your eyes and you'll be able to see at high speed and see things even further. But, don't put too much or it will put strain on your eyes. In the worst cases, it might even destroy your eyes. But since the distance is not that far, you won't need to enchant it that heavily, so don't worry.
As for the tool, if you put too little energy, the projectile shot will be a small round bullet. And you don't want that, because if you fire a bullet, there will be a gravity effect where the bullet will be landing lower than expected. And as a result, your shot will go down from its original path.
Which is why you need to pump those magic energy input, all the way until you feel the tool start getting hot. Then, using your enchanted eyes, you aim exactly at the middle dot.
You will fire off a laser instead of a bullet due to the large amount of input. A laser doesn't have the bullet travel effect since it is so powerful, therefore it will fire exactly following the path. Get it?"
"""Yeah!"""
"Good. Now go try them."
The group then started to imagine how they were going to do it. And when the time came, every single one of them managed to hit the centre perfectly. Though some did miss and hit the second circle. But in the end, those are still some good results.
The teachers clapped at me again for somehow being able to figure it out. The students who were able to do it told the rest about the tricks and tips on how to shoot at the middle dot. And when everyone else tried it again, they all managed to shoot perfectly.
"This is... nuts..."
The magic aptitude teacher, Miss Malindey, mutters as she watches the students shoot their magic energy at the target. The practical teacher, Mister Fergulus, nodded at that.
"Y-Yeah... They are definitely going to destroy the competition..."
"Sadly, this is far from enough."
From their left, I walked towards them calmly. I stopped right next to mister Fergulus.
"So? What are you planning to do?"
Mister Fergulus asked, and I understood what he was actually asking. He is asking for my goal, for what reason I'm helping everyone like this.
So, I gave him my answer.
"Wipe out class A completely, and make everyone here the new class A."
"That's... A big plan. But, can you do it?"
"I already have a plan in motion. Even as we speak."
I turned my gaze at the students, focusing on shooting the middle. The teachers nodded at my answer.
I turned my gaze back to the teachers, and asked them about my request.
"Teachers, can you... modify today's class?"
"Into what?"
"Into a combat practice class."
.
I explained to the teachers about my plan. They listened to it and agreed immediately.
"That's a great idea. Let's do it."
"But, what if the tools get damaged?"
Mister Fergulus agreed immediately, but Miss Malindey shook her head from worry.
"They won't. I'll be keeping an eye on them as well."
I said as I slowly stepped back while the teachers called everyone.
"Everyone! Group up, please!"
The teachers called for everyone, and the students stopped shooting and grouped up.
"We are going to switch up today's plan. Instead, we are going to play a game!"
""Game?""
The teachers explained the plan to the students, which I'm surprised that he actually explains them correctly.
The game we will be playing is paintball, except it's not going to be using paints. Instead we will be using the magic tools as the guns, and magic energy as the materials.
A battle arena will be made right here with the help of teacher Fergulus, who is an earth mage. He will make some covering spots, as well as the pot holes for cover.
Teacher Malindey will be the judge. She is very strict on safety, so she warned the students not to damage the tools in any way, and to avoid hitting some specific spots.
Five players will be pitted against each other in the ring. And out of five players, only one can move on to the next battle.
"The point of this game is to see how you all do in action, and your way of thinking in a tight situation. But overall, just have fun."
Teacher Malindey explained. She will be the main judge while teacher Fergulus keeps an eye on the arena.
Five players were called to battle, Manda included. They grabbed the magic tools and quickly picked a spot on the arena that teacher Fergulus had created. The arena has a lot of cover areas, which makes it a lot more strategic-based. Everyone who isn't playing is outside of the arena, watching and cheering for the ones playing.
Once the five had picked a place, teacher Malindey called the time.
"Ready!... Set!"
The students on the field look very serious.
Every single one of them… wanted to win.
That... is the kind of determination I always wanted to see.
"... Go!"
And the battle began.
The gun is a one shot tool that shoots magic energy. The damage done from the bullet hitting the skin is merely a small burn wound. That is unless the amount of magic energy is added a lot more.
So far, nobody came out from their covers. They only shoot from their place by peeking out from their cover. Everyone is playing it too safe.
"Let's kick it up a notch."
I said to teacher Fergulus while handing him a paper. He read the content and opened his eyes wide.
"You are just evil."
He returned the paper to me while chuckling, and then lifted his hand. The ground on the arena crumbled as pillars of stone slowly rose. Some of the pillars rose exactly where a student is at, and they got taken up.
Thanks to the vantage point from the pillar, the student was able to get a clear shot at his target.
BAR!!
One of the students got hit on the forehead. He immediately ran out of the arena to get some healing from me, and I quickly healed his forehead.
Yeah... I am being quite open regarding my healing magic now.
But with the way things are going with Class E, I'm sure everyone will end up supporting me. I'm betting on it.
Now, four left.
Manda seemed to be panicking, but it seems like the stone pillars stopped rising. The student who got lifted by the stone pillar is still on the top, ten meters up from the ground. His eyes looked around for any targets, but the other students hid pretty well behind the stone pillars.
Manda peeked a little bit to her right and can see the sniper up there. She quickly moved her gun and shot towards the sniper.
BAR!!
The attack didn't hit the sniper, but it was enough to startle him. The student fell from the top, and his gun was not in his hand.
I quickly dashed forward.
BAKK!!!
"Jelmond lost!"
The teacher announced when the student fell.
"W-Why didn't you grab me!?"
Ah, right. I should have grabbed him too... Instead I grabbed the gun.
"The gun's more important."
I walked away with a grin. He followed me half-heartedly so that I could heal his back.
