"Wooaahh!!"
"We are so high up!!"
"Dude!! This is insane…!"
I can hear the students shouting in awe as we flew towards the floating castle.
… Very… very slowly…
I was so used to my usual flight speed, that I forgot that simply flying is already very special. In the end, I did not feel quite grateful for my flying ability, even though it was such an important thing.
Behind me, Arfius and Jericho looked very disappointed.
"Aiyahh, this is very boring…"
"I know, right…"
After me, Arfius and Jericho are the next fastest flyers in the academy. The two have a really high tier wind magic and also a secondary element that can boost one's speed, such as Arfius's lightning magic and Jericho's light magic.
During the flight, everyone was sightseeing on the entire kingdom. We are so high up, that we can see the entire kingdom from up here by just looking around.
The people on the ground saw the hundreds of students flying away from the academy towards the floating castle, and they waved their hands as well as cheered.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who noticed them.
After about thirty minutes, we arrived at the floating castle. Upon landing, a lot of the mages who were waiting on standby by the giant empty field behind the castle began flying upwards. They greeted the students, and helped take control of the flight.
Our levitation changed, and we slowly descended into the ground. Our foot landed on the ground very carefully, and I can tell it took a lot of them to do that.
I turned above, and noticed that the Wizard who was transporting us had fainted.
Poor guy…
Veneo gave his dead sleeping body to another mage next to him, and he flew to the front side of the field to greet the students. He landed next to a mage wearing another type of fancy robe, which I assumed to be a Master Magician robe. The Master Magician looked quite young and in his mid-late twenties, and he lifted both of his hands to us.
"Everyone!! Welcome to the floating castle!!"
The mage greeted, and all the students cheered.
"You guys must be quite excited to be here! How was the flight? Was it great?"
As expected, everyone was quite enjoying that little flight trip. The handsome looking mage then clapped his hands to silence the students.
"Okay! Looks like everyone is enjoying it! Then we shall continue with the process, shall we?
My name is Eaden from the Dealan family. Feel free to call me Senior Eaden, since I'm only a few years older than you. Nice to meet you!"
Oh, you one handsome man. You really know how to speak in front of people.
The girls from the academy are shouting like crazy because of how handsome that guy is. His orange hair, golden eyes, and a clean pale face, he is the wet dream of all maidens.
"For some reason, I don't like that guy."
Arfius said coldly, and he was agreed by every male in the group.
"Same."
Suddenly everyone turned to me with confusion. Every girl was swayed by this guy, how can I not get moved?
"Pretty snakes like him make me sick."
I said with a really annoyed face. Next to me, Manda chuckled.
"Hahah… I thought it was something else…"
Everyone else turned away to ignore me, and continued to listen to Mister handsome.
"First things first, let's introduce ourselves to one another. I am from the mage corps, a Master Magician. But don't be fooled, because I just got this title just a few weeks ago! I'm not that great!-"
Pretending to be modest.
"-You guys came from the first year to the third year, correct? It does not matter what year you are on, because every single one of you are the future handsome and beautiful mages of the kingdom!-"
Overly praising the audience.
"-And you guys will be the one who protects the kingdom in the future, as the great mages of the kingdom!"
How good this guy at speeches simply made me annoyed…
All the students took the bait. They all cheered for Mister handsome way too much, making the floating castle a bit rowdier than normal.
Then again, we are at the back of the castle, rather far from it as well. This part is where the mage corps headquarters is at, and the mages thought this place would be a great starting spot to start the internship program.
Eaden invited Julius to the field, and Julius gave a few words to the students. After him, the king of Xyphon also gave some words of encouragement, which made the students even prouder.
Being in the most prestigious academy in the kingdom can sometimes let you meet with many powerful people in the kingdom. I wonder if there's a similar situation in Mazino when you can meet the king to get some words of encouragement.
After giving some words, the king left the field. His house was over there, after all. It's not that difficult for him to walk back home.
Afterwards, we finally started with the event. The students were split into seventy five groups, and each had a mage supervising them. The groups consisted of a combination between the first year, second year, and the third year, so it is highly unlikely for you to be in the same group with those you know.
Except… I helped in creating the groups.
Manda was teamed up with the junior that had a crush on her, which makes things incredibly funny. Jericho was with her, and there's two other seniors on the team from the third year E class.
Everyone else also got teamed up with some people that they know, at least the ones that were recognized by the student council.
And out of all seventy five teams, one team stood out the most.
Consisted of me, Arfius, the two best seeds from the third year, and the best seed from the first year. Our squad is easily the most fearsome group in the entire kingdom.
The third years, Keira and Albert, were the rank one and two from class A. Keira is from the Korvus family that specialized in shadow magic, while Albert is from the Paracule family that specialized in earth magic.
The first year, Leo, was a mysterious boy. He is from the Hugo family, but he was rather… peculiar. The Hugo family specialized in fire magic, and yet he was a rather special case. But thanks to his talent, he became the top student from the first year.
I wonder who put this team together… Obviously, it's someone from the student council. One with a high ranking in position.
I admit… It was me.
The supervisor that was sent to guide us from the mage corps was a rather young Magister ranked mage who seemed to be a newbie. He did notice that Arfius is in this group, and he probably recognized the third years and the first year who were with us. I wonder if he recognized me as well.
"M-My name is Roy… I will be your… supervisor…"
The supervisor, Roy, immediately bowed at us. That was a very wrong act to do in front of students, but he knew very well that not a single individual in the group was someone weak or simple.
Everyone noticed our group and couldn't help but feel sorry for the supervisor.
Hmm? This guy…
Heheheh…
As soon as I saw him, I noticed something interesting about him. And since he is still bowing at us, I took this chance while everyone was watching and walked to the supervisor. I patted him in the shoulder, and he lifted his head to find my soft smile.
Everyone was quite glad to see that I smiled softly to the poor supervisor, but then I opened my mouth.
"If you fail to guide us, I'll kill you."
Roy stopped breathing. Everyone else became speechless.
Behind me, Arfius laughed rather loudly.
