Special Chapter X - Cursed Field (part 2)

Everyone else also noticed it, and became very worried. This is a really wide area, and to curse all of it simply means that the caster must be very powerful.

"The caster must be powerful… is what you thought, right?"

I chuckled and turned my gaze back to them. They still wore their horrified faces, despite knowing that I am here.

That's right. Curse magic is just like healing magic. If it can be used on inanimate objects, then I can use healing magic on them as well.

I lifted my hand forward, and tried activating healing magic. A blast of white light appeared on my hand, and was fired into the ground in front of us. The white energy disappeared as it deepened itself into the ground.

They thought the magic was working, because the white energy disappeared into the ground. But, the confused expression on my face tells them otherwise.

Huh? Did it just…

I fired another healing ball towards the ground, and the ball just disappeared under the ground without doing anything.

I kneeled and placed my fingers on the ground, and I tried a wide range healing magic forcefully on the ground. The ground around me was lit up, but only a small amount.

I enchanted so much energy into that, and only a little bit lit up?

And what's worse, was that after I stopped, the purple color returned to the original state. It disappeared after I used the healing magic, but it slowly regrown when I stopped.

This is… annoyingly difficult.

"What's wrong?"

Arfius asked me. He doesn't seem to get it, but he knows that something happened.

"G-Give me a second…"

I took a few breaths to calm myself. I have to be perfectly focused to do this, and give it my all. This field is extremely wide, and I need to heal them all at once if I want this to work.

The amount of energy on this curse is small, but the type of the curse was in fact powerful. Plus, the area is incredibly wide, healing it will be very difficult for me.

It's possible… that the caster spent many days putting this together on the entire field.

I shall crush it at once!

I placed my fingers on the ground again, and my eyes were opened wide. I can feel my vision turning red, and the pressure around me became much heavier.

VWOOOOMM!!!!!!!!

Everyone next to me panicked and quickly evacuated while they still could. The two villagers who were with us already fainted, and Albert had to pick both of them up while leaving.

Once they all left, I continued.

VWOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The air became much heavier, even from the village, anyone can tell that something large is about to happen on the crops field.

Standing at the side, Arfius and the others are already gasping for air. Arfius does have a much better resistance than everyone else, and he was very confused as to why I suddenly turned enraged.

"Why did she… suddenly burst out…?"

He mumbled, but nobody around him was able to answer.

In the middle of the crops, I'm fighting with my all. The purple colored curse is slowly being eaten away by my white colored healing magic, but it's extremely slow. I'm already spending so much energy in a span of a few seconds, and I don't think I can last even five minutes at this rate.

I became even more desperate, and poured even more energy. The speed of the healing rose, but the rate of my energy reduction is incredibly large.

After three minutes, I was able to create a fifteen meter radius of white circle.

There's still over a hundred meter radius left for me to heal.

This is not working… What is going on?

I let out a sigh, and stopped my healing. The ground became darker again, and the bright purple color slowly returned to its original spot. My vision returned to normal, and I stood back up while flexing my body a little bit.

That was bad… I spent so much energy healing that, and yet it didn't work.

Was I… doing it wrong?

"Oi."

A call came from behind, and I noticed Arfius' annoyed glare staring sharply at me.

Ah, right. I was putting my all, meaning I was putting the entire village under pressure.

I lifted my palms at them and chuckled.

"Sorry… I failed."

Arfius let out a sigh hearing that. He turned around and walked to the others.

"If you can't do it, then nobody else can. Now, hurry up. You have to apologize to the village."

He pointed towards the buildings far from our position, and there's a lot of people watching from the side of the field.

They all looked scared and worried. Some adult males even hold a weapon, as if they are about to fight something.

Ah… I messed up.

I began following Arfius towards the exit, and we quickly met the villagers.

"I'm sorry… that was too careless of me. But to my surprise, I also failed in the process… I apologize."

I bowed to them and apologized, and I also told them that I have failed. The head farmer and the village elder are in front of me, and they don't look quite annoyed.

"W-Well… maybe next time you could warn us first? I was right next to you when you suddenly used your magic…"

"Sorry. I didn't think about it beforehand."

Right. I did not think about that.

I was too surprised at the fact that my healing magic was incapable, that I disregarded those who were right next to me. My healing magic is already at the King tier, and thanks to my large magic points, my healing ability is already godlike.

My pressure just now was enough to kill a person at close range, and it was a miracle that the head farmer and the other guy didn't get killed.

Damn… I could have killed someone today…

"Anyway, I will try doing it again today… I just want to remind you."

"Don't worry. Now that we know that you are going to do it again, we will be prepared. Feel free to work to your heart's content."

"Okay."

The villagers left me, and I quickly turned and talked with my team. Roy particularly was quite annoyed, and I chuckled.

"I'm sorry, that was quite rash of me."

"Well, at least you know about it. And did you say you failed?"

I nodded at him, and he began pondering.

"I have heard that you are the current best healer in the kingdom… King tier, wasn't it?"

Everyone turned their surprised gaze at Roy. Only Arfius didn't, because he already knew about it.

For some reason, I noticed something odd about Roy. For now, I'll just watch over him.

"Yep. It was… a really powerful tier. Yet I couldn't do it."

"You'll get it eventually. We can only rely on you for healing that. The rest of us…"

Roy turned to Arfius, and Arfius already knew what they had to do. While I am doing this, they surely have to do something. And certainly, they have something to do.

Arfius pondered for a while as he placed his hand on his chin. He then turned his gaze back to the others and said.

"Let's investigate the culprit."
