Chapter CXLIV - Siege (part 2)

"And they are fighting in the back forest right now!!"

"I see. Where are the other students?"

"We all hid at the class building for sometime, but then I decided to go out and check."

"I see..."

They went out to see the situation, but since the fight has moved to the back forest, it's clear out here. I studied the surroundings more, and they managed to cause a lot of damage bringing the enemies to the back forest.

Then my senses started to pick up more enmities coming here. 

One kilometre away…

And there's plenty of them.

"Everyone, go back inside! Now!!"

The students in the park then quickly heard my command and they all went inside the classes building hurriedly. The boy I was talking with got confused, but decided to heed my command anyways while I turned my back and faced the front court.

All of them... are flying?

No, that can't be right. There's nothing in the skies.

Then... underground?

Just when I found out that the enemies were underground, the ground shook as if a volcano was erupting.

A giant hole got opened in the middle of the front court while tons of monsters came out. 

No, chimeras.

I waited as each and every single one of them came out from the ground. There are sixteen of them in total, varying in size and strengths, and they are all a merging of humans and monsters. King serpents, demon beasts, dungeon monsters...

This is disgusting… all of them were once humans, too…

I unleashed my pressure to taunt the monsters in front of me, and they all turned their gaze at me and started screaming. They all rushed at me all at once, completely releasing their heavy pressures and bloodlust.

"Tch! This is getting annoying!"

I slowly moved forward while my whole body was clad in a dark aura. Shadow armour formed on my arms and legs with a little hint of dark purple flames on it. As the shadow finished forming on my right side, the left side of my body evolved even more.

The spikes grew bigger while the horn on my head turned longer like an antler. The edges of my fingers became sharp, while the wing behind me looked more like the devil.

Partial devil transformation, plus my Emperor tier fire magic and Knight tier shadow magic. I should be unstoppable right now.

I dashed forward while holding my knights sword in my hand, and just like I thought these things are very tough skinned. Every single one of them is resistant to magic attacks, and they are all very fast and strong.

But, their strength means nothing in the face of the devil's pure and raw power. If I can force the muscular strength boost as hard as I can…

Three meters away from me is the first mutant, a king serpent. Serpents are known to be fast, and yet in my black and bright red left eye, they move very slow.

I swung my sword at high speed, and the mutant got sliced in half instantly.

As I thought, as long as I keep the muscle boost on my hands to the max, I can slice through them easily. I won't need magic to fight, since they can just clear the magic away with their anti-magic attribute. 

The devil power is being really helpful, for once.

The other monsters started to hesitate, and that's what got them killed. I danced even faster and got even closer to them faster than they could react, and one by one the mutants died.

One minute. That's all it took for me to kill all sixteen of them.

I turned my gaze back to the back side of the academy and started flying there at high speed. I followed the traces of explosion craters on the forest below the cliff and I arrived on the battlefield.

Wow, they really did destroy the entire forest.

I flew closer and saw a hint of yellow lightning fighting a red scaled dragon looking mutant. It's Arfius, and he is trying to cut the dragon with his magic. How stupid.

"Arfius!"

I shouted, and Arfius quickly leaped away from the monster. The mutant dragon was too late to react. By the time it turned its gaze to me, the whole body was sliced in half.

SHRESHHH!!!!!!

The two pieces fell to the ground as blood sprayed everywhere, freezing Arfius on the spot.

"Where's the headmaster?"

"T-There..."

He pointed towards the north, so that's where I am going. I left Arfius while he tried his best not to puke from seeing blood.

I spotted the headmaster, engaged in a life and death situation with the dragon mutant.

"Rize!"

"Move away!"

BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

I threw three ping pong sized firebombs at the dragon, and it quickly exploded into an atomic bomb. The headmaster teleported away just in time when the explosion occurred. He landed his butt on the ground as he watched the black mushroom cloud in front of him.

"You okay?"

I landed next to him no longer wearing my Partial Devil Form, and the headmaster looked far worse than Arfius. 

Unlike Arfius, the headmaster isn't that quick. He can teleport, but he can't dodge extremely fast. Plus, every single attack that he has is a magical one, which is not working nicely against these things.

He was in a very bad spot.

"What the hell... these things are stronger than the one we fought..."

He said as I placed my hand on his shoulder, healing his wounds. His head is bleeding badly, while a little bit of his left cheek is grazed.

"I just fought an even stronger one with the arch-mage. On the middle island."

"Damn... They even targetted Julius..."

"And there's plenty more in the academy, just now. I killed them all though."

"W-What?! Rize, go check the city. Now!"

"O-Okay… can you teleport me there?"

Arfius arrived behind us just in time. The headmaster stood up immediately, but he is still a little bit off-balanced. He ended up spraying his ankles.

Arfius tried to pull him back up, but the moment we both touched him, we teleported back to the academy.

"Go, Rize!! Arfius!"

The headmaster said as he tried to hold back the pain on his whole body. The fight with the mutant dragon alone must have been quite draining for him, and then he had to teleport us.

FWOOSHH!!!

BZZTTT!!

We nodded at him and I quickly flew upwards, while Arfius turned into a blur of yellow lightning and dashed around the city like the flash.

And from the view up from the sky, I can see how stupid I was for thinking that I have killed all of the mutants. My eyes widened as I bit my lips until it bleeds.

There are explosions occurring around the city, and smokes are coming out everywhere.
