Naval Battle of Naboo(4)

"Alright, form the Veridian Killzone!" I said as our system got fully back.

I turned to the communications officer again.

"Get those Lucrehulks out of here! Order them to fly upwards and jump into hyperspace when we're not blocking the attack." I said, overwriting my previous order. Now that the Valiant is back in business, getting the Lucrehulks out of the way would be more effective.

The Communications officer nodded before getting to work.

I should probably learn his name after this, after all he has been a great help.

"Order Commodore Flint to create a defensive screen, I do not want any Vulture's getting even close, and give me our casualties," I told Admiral Jaime, who stood beside me.

Jaime usually just stood beside me, completed a few orders, and mainly spectated. It was a part of my learning period. He would inform me of my mistakes, potential problems, and things I could have done better later.

Jaime then contacted Flint, passing on the new orders and getting a response on our casualties.

"My Lord, we've lost 105 Z-95 Headhunters and 25 Alpha-V Wings, we have 95 Headhunters, and 590 Alpha-V Wings remaining. We also have 55 Bombers, but all of them need refilling. Additionally, about 345 fighters also need ammunition refill and other small repairs." He said.

I looked towards the enemy's formation, I could see their fighters being in chaos, with half of them having shut down due to losing 3 Lucrehulk.

They currently only had 3 Lucrehulks remaining, meaning they only had 4500 Vulture-Droids. However, the scanners showed otherwise.

In the ensuing battle, they had suffered immense casualties. The 3 Lucrehulks in the back managed to form proper attack waves due to not being spawn-killed by our fighters, but the scanner showed they had about 3800 Vultures, meaning they had lost 700, however, we had likely killed a lot more, but we didn't know as we shut down half of their droids, and we never got a full count.

The droids were still quite shocked, apparently the Neimodian crew on the three remaining Lucrehulks had yet to take command and the remaining Vulture's were setting up defensive formations, an automatic programming software I would guess.

"Alright, call them in for repairs. But don't engage in long repairs, simply short ones so that they can deploy immediately even if we're attacked." I said and Admiral Jaime nodded, sending the order towards Flint.

"Order the fleet to form an Inverted Pincer." I told Admirla Jaime, he knew the specifics of the formation.

The Inverted Pincer was the attack formation used in the Veridian Killzone. It was essentially an inverted wedge, but instead of having a point where the two wings came together, the ship usually positioned to bind the two wings together, was in the middle of the two wings, but not in the furthermost back of the formation, but instead in the front, at the tip.

[- Picture -]

And with that, we began moving, the Carracks previously in the front began forming back with their respective units. With 2 moving onto each main ship. And, this time instead of 2 Munificents only getting 1 Carrack each, this time the 2 Gladiators only got 1 Carrack.

This was because the 4 Munificent formed the 2 forward position in each wing with the Gladiator in the back.

This was due to the Gladiators having weaker shields and forward cannons than the Munificent's. They would therefore serve as backup support, they had a few long guns but they would mainly serve to help starfighters who needed refills throughout the battle.

"Full speed forward, let's get straight into that formation." I said as I looked at the Trade Federations Formation. They had stolen a bit from their previous commander, who didn't make the best formation.

They had 2 Lucrehulks in the front and 1 in the middle, with the middle being behind the 2 in the front. These guys never learn, I swear to god.

"How far out are we?" I asked. Although we hadn't moved much while the systems were out, we were still drifting around.

"Approximately 4 minutes and 30 seconds." He said and I nodded.

"Order the Munificent and Gladiators to recharge their turbolasers. And order the Carracks to overheat theirs. Full power, aim at the 2 Lucrehulks in the front." I said and got multiple responses.

Throughout my forward deck, I could see multiple DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers turn towards the Lucrehulks and open their heavy fire.

In the middle of the different main warships, I could also see 14 small warships, called Carrack's release laser after laser.

"Order the CR-90s to form up behind us, and in the middle of the Inverted Pincer." I said and Admiral Jaime responded.

"Yes, My Lord."

Admiral Jaime was mostly in charge of the naval crafts, and responsible for moving them around.

And like that time passed as we moved forward.

The Lucrehulks had opened fire after approximately 30 seconds.

They had focused almost all their power on the Dauntless, ignoring the other ships.

Which was dumb as the 4 Munificents held twice the power of the Valiant-Class Star Destroyer.

However, our shields held strong. When our systems shut down the shields began regenerating and we were back at 100% when they opened fire.

The Lucrehulk-Class Core Ship had an SU of 6500, approximately the same as 2-3 Venators. Meanwhile, the Valiant had a 3 600 SBD, SBD is how you deduce a ship's defensive capabilities and SU is for the offensive capabilities.

( this is complete bullshit that I'm making up, but if you have a better way pls tell )

SU is equal to how much of a ship's SBD it can destroy in 1 hour.

This means a continuous barrage from the Lucrehulk in 1 hour, is equal to losing 6500 SBD, which also means enduring a Lucrehulk barrage for 30 minutes is equal to 3250 SBD.

But because we're under a barrage of 3 Lucrehulks, we can barely withstand 10 minutes of continuous attack. Of course, there's the hull. The Valiant had 2100 in Hull strength, meaning it could withstand roughly 20 minutes from a single Lucrehulk, or about 7 minutes against the 3 Lucrehulks.

Meanwhile, the Valiant had an SU of 7200, however the Lucrehulks had low shields. At barely 3800 SBD, meaning we could take out one every half hour.

So basically, if we charged the Lucrehulks alone. By the time they killed us, we'd have killed one of theirs. Or a heavily damaged one.

However, with the support of 4 Munificent, 2 Gladiators, 5 CR-90, and 14 Carracks, the total of SBD, SU, and RU between our fleets was actually in our favor.

But that is due to the fact we've cut their fleet in 2 without suffering a lot of casualties. The result of this was a mix of the Trade Federation's stupidity, fleet composition, and our surprise attack.

As well as Padme drawing a lot of attention.

Soon enough we got closer and closer, the VSD Dauntless drawing so much firepower was truly helping, although our shields were down 23%, to a total of 77%, however, we were steadily losing more due to getting closer, and it, therefore, got a lot easier to aim.

The 2 Lucrehulks had escaped halfway through our charge. They had drawn a bit of the Lucrehulk's fire, but upon seeing them attempting to leave they gave up and focused on the matter at hand. The Lucrehulks were now safely in the neighbor system and getting their trackers removed.

However, we could now fulfill our plan.

We had all focused a lot of firepower onto the Lucrehulks, and we had dealt as much damage to them as they did to us. With the two forward Lucrehulks at 60% and the one in the back at 85%, if the reports were correct.

However, we were now in the position of a pincer.

I looked out, we were straight in front of the Lucrehulks, and the distance between the two forward ones, was more than enough for us to pass through.

However, I then spotted a Vulture hit our deck.

Throughout these 5 minutes, our fighters had engaged in an endless 6 to 1 battle, but we had been steadily winning. The odds were now 4 to one, but we were still having a hard time, with the Vultures getting closer and closer to our ships, now even being able to crash into us.

"Alright, let's end this. Have the right and left wing spread out and head Nort-West and Nort-East respectively." I said and Jaime nodded, passing it through.

I then saw them head in a line on the outsides of the Lucrehulk formation.

"Straight head! Pierce into the middle of the two forward Lucrehulks!" I shouted and got a roar of enthusiasm back.

The Lucrehulks had a slight problem. Due to the large amounts of turrets, they had a lot on the sides, meaning when we went into the middle, only about 70% of their guns could target us.

I slowly watched as we passed through the Lucrehulks, and the bomber runs increased. They desperately launched bombers from their close hangars, however, due to our close proximity, allowed our laser turrets and point defense guns to spawn-kill them. The problem with forward hangars.

Meanwhile, our DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolasers shot havoc into their ship, drastically decreasing their shields, they had focused firepower on the front, and it took time to change the power from the front to the sides.

And even then it was hard to have it strengthened from both sides.

I looked at the scanners to see that the Munificent's were in formation.

The two Gladiators were in front of the Lucrehulks, keeping pressure on their forward shields, one gladiator on each of the forward Lucrehulks.

Meanwhile, the Munificent's had done their job. The 2 Munificents closest to the Gladiators were now horizontal with the 2 forward Lucrehulk, and the 2 furthest away were horizontal with the Lucrehulk in the back.

Now, we would use the Munificent's greatest weakness, to our advantage.

The problem with the Munificent was that they had their guns under their hull shields, meaning If a ship was above the Munificent. They'd be fucked. But by having the Munificent's guns perfect in the spot, they would be devastating.

"Order the Munificents to rotate 90 degrees, and show their underside to the Lucrehulks." I said, and it happened immediately. Each ship already knew what would come and they were prepared to utilize it.

As I saw them get into position I smiled.

We'd won.

There was no gravity in space so you could turn and spin at a whim, so nothing could stop the Munificents.

"Open fire! Focus all power towards the guns!" I shouted, intending it both to my personal ship, but also to the entire fleet.

And open fire we did.

All the guns began firing. The bombers came out of the Gladiators, and began wreaking havoc.

We had them hidden until now. And they began bombing run.

The Lucrehulks didn't have point-defense cannons, but we did. And now that we had taken the battle to their home field, our point defense cannons truly shined, taking tons of pressure off our fighters.

And with that I zoned out, there was nothing more I could do. I had done my part and it was now onto the gunners to finish it.

The forward Lucrehulks fell first. The first fell only 10 minutes after we started our formation, a dual squadron bomb run dealing the finishing blow.

The second exploded only 3 minutes later, not being able to take the continuous fire from 2 Gladiators and 2 Munificents.

5 minutes after that again, the last Lucrehulk too, exploded. No Lucrehulk could take the fire from 7 capital ships.

But we did suffer some damage.

4 Carracks were shot down, the 2 Gladiators had to take a lot of damage and their shields shut down.

1 of the Munificent's weapons systems were overheated and shut down.

The Cumulus served a kind of hidden role in this battle, mainly supporting the fighters and not really dealing any heavy damage.

The Cumulus is better suited for engaging ground targets like done in the Mandalorian and supporting starfighters with its 14-man-controlled turrets. But it did do its job, and didn't suffer any casualties.

And lastly, 8 DP20s died, 150 Z-95 Headhunters, 120 Alpha-V Wing, 36 H6 Bombers.

And lastly the Valiant.

It had taken an immense beating throughout the battle, with only 4% of its shield remaining.

I turned to Admiral Tyr.

"Contact Queen Amidala, and make sure we get our troops transported down if needed. And prepare a transport for me." I said as I breathed a sigh of release, the Battle of Naboo was finally done unless the droids were no longer controlled by a centralized computer.

And Anakin never came, I wonder what happened.
