Matthew leaned in, his voice low. "I can't directly intervene. If Dominic finds out I'm helping you, it won't end well for either of us. But I can offer you support, information, resources—whatever you need to get Arette out safely."

Dami frowned. "So you're saying you'll help, but from the sidelines?"

"Exactly," Matthew replied. "I can't put myself in Dominic's crosshairs, but I can give you the tools to do what needs to be done."

"Great," Dami said, her tone thick with sarcasm. "So I get to do the dirty work while you stay squeaky clean."

"I know it's not ideal," Matthew said, his expression sincere. "But it's the best I can offer without endangering both of us. I'll make sure you have everything you need to succeed."

Dami thought for a moment, weighing her options. "Alright, what do you have for me? Because I need information—who's guarding Arette, what their schedules are, everything."
