The day approached, and Garette grew increasingly nervous even though Damien had told him that Arette would attend the meeting. He was scared that Dominic might change his mind and not allow Arette to come. Joseph noticed Garette's nervous state and asked, "Is your sister coming?"

Parents started arriving one by one: John's parents, Ian's parents, Kevin's parents, Ezekiel's parents, and Joseph's mom. The principal, Mr. Campbell, and their homeroom teacher, Mrs. Hemsworth, along with Mr. Spears, were already seated at a rectangular table with the parents. Only Garette's guardian had yet to show.

The door opened, and Dyanne stepped in, her face showing a mixture of determination and vulnerability as she was the main victim of the situation. Behind her was a man no one recognized. He walked in confidently and introduced himself to the principal, "Hello, I'm Damien Ferrari, Dyanne's father."
