First, Garette washed his hands, muttering under his breath about unreasonable friends and their tiny tigers. He pulled out a cutting board and a sharp knife, then started chopping the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

"Careful there," Joseph said with a smirk. "Wouldn't want you to lose a finger. Bella might think it's a treat."

Garette rolled his eyes. "Hilarious. Really."

Next, he moved on to the vegetables. He chopped up some bell peppers, onions, and broccoli, carefully setting each aside in neat piles. "You know, if you're just going to stand there, you could make yourself useful," Garette remarked.

"But where's the fun in that?" Joseph quipped. "I'm enjoying the show."

Garette sighed and reached for a frying pan, setting it on the stove and turning the heat up to medium. He poured in some oil, waiting for it to heat up. "You're really milking this, aren't you?"
