As they walked down the street, chatting and joking, Garette glanced at Joseph, and a soft, subtle smile made its way onto his lips. If he had known having someone to call a friend would be so nice, he would've gotten one long ago. No wonder Arette and Dami never seemed to leave each other alone.

At the corner store, they picked up some chips and sodas, laughing over their choices and arguing about which flavours were best. With their snacks in hand, they made their way to the park, ready to enjoy the rest of their day.

By the time they reached the new basketball hoop, the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the park. Garette tossed the ball to Joseph, who caught it with a grin.

"Ready to get schooled, Garette?" Joseph challenged.

"In your dreams, Joseph," Garette shot back, positioning himself on the court.
