INTO THE NEXT
Vera’s Point of View
I stacked up the paper I could not finish sorting under my desk. I cleared out the table, I was exhausted. Mr Bruno had left the office a long while ago, he was slowly losing it but he would not acknowledge it. If he wouldn’t acknowledge it, the realization couldn’t dawn.
He’s been rescheduling all his appointments, we were falling behind. I as his personal assistant and secretary have done all I can. The ball was in his court now, I was powerless.
I packed my handbag and rose. I pushed my chair in when I had exited the tiny space I called my office. I walked to the restroom first and had a look at my outfit, retouching my make up as I found it necessary. When I was done, I walked out of the building with a renowned source of confidence. I replied to all the greetings offered to me.
