"Fai dropped by this afternoon because a prior appointment of hers cancelled at the last minute," Marnthe explained as he put the food Geale brought home onto serving platters. "How long have you been waiting at the door?"

Marnthe noticed Geale at the doorway of the restaurant bar while he was reminiscing about the past with Fai. He expected the younger man to be home around that time, but he didn't think he was there already.

Marnthe also noticed something off about him, like he wasn't happy that he arrived home. He quickly approached him and led him inside the room while Fai greeted him.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Fai left saying she would see them again at her scheduled bar performance. Marnthe hiked up the stairs with Geale; the younger man silent.

"Geale?" Marnthe asked when he didn't hear any reply. He turned around from his place at the kitchen counter and found Geale seated quietly on one of the dining chairs.
