Earthquake and Intimate Activities

Quin arrived the next morning in a truck he said he borrowed from a friend. He apparently dropped by the warehouse in the mainland and picked up chairs and tables that would be used to replace the ones that Geale damaged the night before.

Quin stared at the stack of broken chairs that Marnthe and Geale gathered at the back of the restaurant. He didn't seem surprised or fazed by the sight.

Geale stood warily next to him. His eyes darted toward Quin's direction, curious about what he really thought of the damaged furniture. Marnthe, who left Geale there to meet with carpenters in front of the restaurant bar, told him that he explained the situation to Quin as the aftermath of a mini-earthquake.

It didn't seem like a sound or convincing alibi to Geale and he wondered if Quin thought of it the same way. However, the human's face remained unreadable as he surveyed the damage on the chairs.

"Did you sing?" Quin finally asked.
