Geale woke up to Marnthe staring blankly at the ceiling. The room was still dark. The sun was yet to rise and shine its light through the windows. The cold air of dawn seeped through the wood walls, filling the linen sheets where Geale and Marnthe lay underneath feel chilly.
"Hey," Geale said, catching Marnthe's attention away from his deep musing.
Marnthe glanced at him and smiled. "Hey to you too. It's still early. You can sleep in."
"I can say the same to you. Nightmare?"
Marnthe turned to the ceiling again. "I don't know."
"What do you know?" Geale teased.
"Eli was there."
"I'm sorry." It must have scared Marnthe a lot. Geale felt guilty that he didn't wake up sooner to help him in some way.
"He was different. He was kind." Marnthe smirked at Geale. "You were friends."
"What?! No way!"
Marnthe chuckled. "I think you will like that Eli. He's cool and funny."
"He's also a dream, likely a nightmare."
