"Let's not jump to conclusions," Geale said, sensing the brewing panic from Marnthe's petrified stance beside him.
People easily believed Eli could commit heinous crimes because they didn't know that he was innocent of the homicides he pled guilty to. They didn't know it was actually the restaurant bar's owner who they should be wary of.
The thought weighed heavily on Marnthe's chest. He stared down at the floor and pursed his lips, hoping no one noticed his rapid deep breaths as his clenched fists trembled inside his pants pockets.
"Anything is possible, but I don't want to think the worst right now when we barely have all the details," Geale continued, grabbing everyone's attention before they could notice Marnthe's odd demeanor. "Let's wait for Quin before we make any rash decisions."
"Why would they suddenly leave though?" Serena asked.
"Maybe they just went on a tour somewhere, and the place they are in just doesn't have a strong phone signal," Hima said.
