"Now, who is going to try next, I am just getting warmed up, how about you human, I believe we have a score to settle," said Gurg pointing his sword at Ash.
"No, the next is me," said Akash and stepped forward.
Ash had to find a way to end this, they needed something strong, to finish him in one go, like Michael had done with the worm, only Gurg was much more powerful than that and had an almost indestructible armor on. He thought hard for a way then something came to his mind.
"Aria, I am going to try and find something, you guys keep him busy and don't take any risks," said Ash and hurried off. He went back to the place where they had fought all the warlocks, where he had faced that snake and killed that shaman, it all felt like days ago now. He found the dead hobgoblin's body, which the snake had killed by melting its face with its poison. He jumped over it and looked around, and he found it, lying near the corpse of its previous owner. The cane that the shaman was carrying, it had a big blue stone just like his sword. He picked it up and hoped that it worked, he felt the same feeling when he tried to pour mana into the stone as he did with his sword but it wasn't working properly, there was something wrong with it. He had to find someone who could fix it. He placed the cane on his back and ran off at full speed towards the city walls. He reached the healer tents and started looking around for the helmet-wearing healer. He found her treating an injured elf in a tent.
"I need your help!" he announced panting and out of breath.
"When did you start carrying a cane around," said Amyra looking up.
"The stone, it isn't responding to me properly, why?" he asked.
"Wow that is a big magical stone it would have a lot of mana," she exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know, but why isn't it working," he said.
"Let me see," she said and held it.
"It's been adjusted to only work for its owner," she said.
"But that shaman is dead," he said.
"Who killed him?"
"Me!" he said.
"Then it shouldn't be a problem, give me your hand," she said and she touched the stone with one hand and his palm with the other and muttered something under her breath.
"There it's all done, anything else?" she asked.
"Yes, I need clouds, in the sky, dark ones, as many as possible," he said.
"You would need a really powerful weather mage for that," she said.
"Isn't there any other way?" asked Ash.
"Umm, I mean, If I think about it, we can instead create a magic circle in the sky which will show us the sky from someplace else, you know like a portal, would that work?" she asked.
"Yes!, Do it!" he said.
"I'll do it, you go and get ready, where are there a lot of clouds this time around?" she muttered and Ash left.
He didn't go too close to the others, they were still fighting Gurg taking turns, and they seemed to be running out of mana, they kept switching places sooner than before. Ash looked in the sky and waited for Amyra to do her thing, then it happened, a large blue magic circle appeared in the sky, and then it changed colors and in the middle of it a different sky could be seen now, with dark clouds. Ash raised the cane in the air and let his mana flow into the stone, the stone started glowing up, and even more, mana started coming out of it, the magical stone as he understood was full of pure mana, they were first needed to tell which mana was needed by letting some of it inside and then they would start generating that mana in much more amount, but one stone only worked for certain kinds of affinities, Ash couldn't use a red magic stone for lighting.
He let the mana rise to the circle and beyond it, again the clouds started circling it, and soon lightning bolts started forming in them, then like before only much more powerful, all the lightning fell at once forming a pillar of energy, it all got absorbed rapidly in the stone and Ash's body. The stone was about to burst now with energy.
Ash fully charged up and blasted off like an arrow towards Gurg, they all looked at him coming at once.
"Get away!" he shouted to the others and they all ducked, as he let the lightning loose at him, a very thick bolt of lightning hit Gurg straight in the chest and his whole body lit up with light. The attack went on for minutes too bright to see what was happening to Gurg but his screams could be heard soon. When the attack was over, Gurg landed on the ground, with great wisps of smoke coming from his armor, he looked down at himself shaken up, all his hairs were gone, his eardrums had been burst open he couldn't hear anything, but he looked down at himself, his armor had saved him, he looked at Ash and started laughing.
Then a cracking sound came and everyone looked as suddenly the drangon-scaled armor broke into a million pieces leaving Gurg without any protection. Gurg looked down at his bare chest too shocked, but others didn't wait for anything, before he could blink a large sword was jutting out of his stomach which Akash had sunk in pretty deep.
"I had it made especially for this purpose when I was coming here, it's made by the same smith, whose son you killed," said Akash and those were the last words Gurg heard before dying.
Ash fell on his back on the ground and closed his eyes, he heard footsteps come near him and stopped, he opened one eye and looked at everyone looking down on him.
"Don't wake me up," said Ash and closed his eyes, they all laughed looking at him and Ben and the others sat down there too to take a rest.
When Ash woke up next, he was in his bed, in the room he had been given as the ambassador, he sat up and saw that the sun was just rising, he had slept through the whole evening and night, and his stomach made a loud noise, and his body ached like hell. He went out of the room, the house looked empty, and there was also a peaceful silence in the surroundings.
"Hello" he called out for someone, then he heard some running footsteps coming out from the kitchen and Hailey appeared.
"I was wondering when you were going to wake up, I bet you are famished, I have just been preparing lunch," she said.
"What happened, with everything?" he asked.
"It's all been taken care of, there are no signs of goblins, Gurg's gone and his men too, some are locked up or dead, the city will take some time to get back to normal, but it's being rebuilt at full speed, the citizens are back in their houses and everything's fine, now what would you like to eat?" she asked.
"No thanks, I need to see someone," he said and went back to the room, while Hailey shouted after him, he grabbed a shirt from the cupboard and jumped out of the window. He reached her home knocked on the door and waited. The door opened and she appeared, Ash didn't wait and kissed her and took her inside, closing the door behind them.
