Another letter

 Mirabelle's POV

I was still seated on my bed wondering what in the world I had just experienced. Whoever was here placed a paper in my hand and left. I knew he was gone because I couldn't feel his domineering aura anymore. At first, I was trembling with fear, petrified even because the bedroom got filled with a dark and domineering aura. It overwhelmed the room and even me, leaving me to wonder who was with me but while he was here I had to quickly hide my fear and defend myself because he might have come to hurt me. It was strange, I didn't hear the door open nor did I hear the windows open for me to conclude he climbed in. Gabrielle had closed the windows because the weather was a bit cold and she had dressed me only in my undergarments, so there was no way someone could enter the room without making a sound but whoever was here did and I don't know how. I thought I was going to be attacked at first but oh dear me, he placed a kiss on my hand and left. A soft kiss, assuring me he wasn't planning on and wasn't going to hurt me. I knew it was a man because I heard him laugh, a deep chuckle enough for me to know it was a man. I held the paper tightly as I laid down on the bed, patiently waiting for Gabrielle to return so she could tell me what was written on the paper because he would not have given me a blank paper. I lay for long time and I was almost drifting to sleep when the thought came to me. Perhaps whoever was here was the same man that gave me a letter days back? It must be him!. But why didn't he answer me when I asked who he was? Who exactly was this man and did he know I was blind? It was obvious I was but why didn't it scare him away like the other men who had tried asking for my hand in marriage?. I sighed and shut out my thoughts before closing my eyes to sleep.

I was walking down a foyer, draped in expensive fabric and jewelries with a tulip flower between my fingers when I saw a man walk towards me . I couldn't see his face, it was blur but he was dressed expensively also. He had a man by his side and two behind him. He wanted to speak to me but all of a sudden, he slummed on the floor and began clutching his chest as he began spitting blood. I was confused and terrified as I saw him tremble. The men with him were also panicking and one shouted "My king!". I gasped out of my dream and most especially in moments like this, I wished I could see. I felt bared to something, something evil and sinister. It felt like evil was crawling on my skin. My hands were shaking as I realized I was still holding the paper my admirer gave me. I breathe in and out as I tried to calm myself and push the fear away. I bit my lips as I prayed that Gabrielle and mother could return home quickly and it seemed God answered my prayers because I heard the door creak open and the next sound I heard was Gabrielle's voice. "I'm back! Wait, Mirabelle why do you look frightened?". I heard her walk closer to me. I sighed in relief, finally someone was here with me. "I had another dream, I think it's also about the king, almost the same as the last. I do not quite understand why I am having these dreams about the king." I explained. I'm sure she had a confused expression on her face. I also, was confused and bewildered. "What happened in this one?" She asked and I told her exactly how the dream went. She was silent for a while before asking "Would you tell the king about this one?". I thought for a while and answered "The king did say that if I had any other dream, I should inform him". Gabrielle sighed and said "I guess you'd tell him then. What's this?" She picked up the paper from my hands. "Someone was here and he gave it to me. Can you tell me what's written on it?" I asked expectantly but Gabrielle questioned again "A he? A man was here? Did father see him? Did anyone see him?. Wait Mirabelle, who's this person?". I knew Gabrielle was concerned but for the questions she asked, I craved an answer for them too because I didn't know nor could I explain what had happened.

"I really don't know Gabby. Just read whatever's on the paper" I pleaded and I heard her release a stressed sigh before the sound of paper was heard. "Hmmm...there's a strange seal on this. It's a letter" she said and my curiosity increased.

"Strange seal?" I asked surprised. "Yes, it is captivating. It's a seal with an eagle on it. A gold colored seal" she elaborated. "Whoever gave you this must be wealthy" she concluded. I heard her pull the seal off and she began reading the contents of the letter to me.

"Mirabelle Nolan, I can't wait till you know who I am and how quickly I want you to be mine. You still intrigue me. I heard a ball is coming up, I would be there and it would be a pleasure to be graced by your presence. I would be expecting you at the ball my lady".

"He wants you at the ball!" Gabrielle almost squealed. I didn't know if it was out of joy or shock. "First of all, we do not know what kind of ball it is. Besides, I can't go either ways. I do not know this man" I explained. "That is true but you'd get to know him with time." Gabrielle said. "Gabby" I tried to make her listen to her words. "He makes me scared Gabby, when he was here earlier his presence was intimidating and I asked him who he was and he did not respond" I paused as a thought came to my mind. "Or perhaps is he dumb? He has never spoken to me before, so it is possible that he can't speak. Or is that why he wants me? He's dumb and I'm blind and I guess he thinks we are the perfect couple" I added making Gabrielle chuckle. That was the only explanation I could find, he could have answered me earlier if he could speak right?. But he laughed and I heard his voice. I slammed my forehead as I realized I was the "dumb" one for thinking like that.
