Get undressed

Afternoon had settled over the island, but the rain showed no sign of letting up. The persistent drumming of droplets against the leaves and the steady trickle of water off the cave's entrance was starting to grate on my nerves. I sighed, looking out at the gloomy forest.

"This rain is getting really annoying," I said, breaking the silence. "What should we do?"

Zaya looked up from where she was sitting, sharpening a small knife. Her eyes reflected the firelight as she considered my question. "We should head out into the forest, even if it's raining. We need to find food, and it wouldn't hurt to get a better sense of what's out there."

I nodded, though the idea of traipsing through the rain didn't exactly thrill me. Still, Zaya was right; we couldn't just sit around and wait.
