Upon hearing the words of the administrator, Pyotr was the first one who seemed to have realized what was going on. As the title or name suggested, this person was the one in charge of everything happening on their planet currently, and the fact that he had bothered to descend personally must mean they had fucked up royally. He began cursing his luck and this person deep in his heart, knowing this might as well be the end of his life by now.
Yves had passed out.
Amir, on the other hand, seemed to keep his head down; his breathing was ragged, but perhaps he was the calmest member of the group as of now. He knew he was in certain danger, but the fact that he wasn't dead and the administrator had chosen to descend must mean something else… He said he was here to fix… His eyes immediately went to the person bearing a draconic arm.
Duke had been the one responsible for the descent of the administrator all along… Well, Duke and Pyotr, because even if he had ended up saving his colleague's life, he might have indirectly ended up sacrificing all of them in the process. But that doesn't make sense…. Why would they even allow a skill like that to exist if it was not usable…? The thought ran through both Pyotr's and Amir's heads…
As for Duke? He simply refused to take his eyes off of the ground, but in reality he could not have been any better. He was sweating; he was exhausted… Every bit of muscle in his body was screaming, including the new one that didn't belong to him, and yet...he was basically drooling at the strength of the person in front of him. While the others might have bowed because of pressure or to save their lives, the duke was genuinely showing respect.
Meanwhile, Z's feet in a weird cloth-like bodysuit finally touched the ground. He could only sigh in defeat as he saw an important resource like the giant wyvern king and queen being wasted so early on… These were one of the few creatures with the potential to evolve to the higher echelons of power with time…this was a bad loss for the game master…which he would surely be held accountable for.
Then again, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing as his gaze went over to the boy with the Dragon King's arm. The child was unaware, however, that at this moment he might have already become a unique existence throughout the cosmos, but more than the person with the arm, he was amused by the person who attached the arm. Such a capability to freely fuse monster characteristics with humans could be…really useful.
He decided to mentally take note of this person, and if he were to die in the future, he could be rendered useful for other experiments after exile. Z walked over to the dragon king and queen's corpses and touched them as the corpses immediately turned into completely white light, vanishing…much to everyone's horror.
He then began walking towards the duke, and in his mind Amir had already bid farewell to his friend. Z reached out his hand to touch Duke's arm.
However, he couldn't; to everyone's surprise, there was a singular crystal wall between the duke and Z. No one has expected it… no one had seen it coming… The crystal wall instantly evaporated upon Z's touch, even causing his own eyes to widen in surprise.
Immediately everyone turned their eyes to look at the person who was on the ground… The pressure from Z seemed to be holding him down, but he struggled to keep his eyes open… His one hand was parallel to the ground, perhaps used to summon the crystal wall… Yves struggled.
"Ple…ease….don…nt"
He struggled against a force he couldn't win against, and he struggled against the person who could kill him with a thought… No one believed their eyes…. Perhaps the heartless Pyotr felt moved, the narcissist Amir forgot about himself, and…the duke, who only respected strength, gained a little respect for the coward.
He was a coward… He had always been a coward; that's how he defined himself, and that's how everyone knew him. But there were times he simply couldn't be a coward… Fear was naturally something that held onto everyone, but…some things were more important than fear.
Regardless, as Z looked at the person who summoned the crystal wall, he sighed and stood up straight. Perhaps he was moved or simply too annoyed to try again, as he decided to make an announcement to the players present here…
"You kids are already going beyond the level you should be allowed to at this point. In no world should you have beaten either of the giant wyvern queen or king… but that isn't a bad thing." He said, with a look on his face that showed certain reluctance,
"However, your actions have caused me trouble… But since you have shown considerable progress, and I can't be bothered anymore…. I'm leaving you guys off with a warning… And I'm allowing this guy to keep his arm…for now. If I catch you guys causing trouble again, there will be action taken."
Those were the last words the four idiots prostrated on the ground heard before the man himself turned into bright white light and vanished deep into the night sky, the moon now clearly visible through t
he hole in the roof of the nest.
