Chapter 17: Luxury Cars! Dinner Party!

Vroom!

The Ferrari roared out of the parking lot.

Wang Kun didn't head back to the company but went to Tianyuan Maoye Mall instead.

Tonight was his first dinner date with Tang Xiao, and how could he not prepare a gift?

And since it was Western food, red wine was a must, right? The quality couldn't be too low, or he'd embarrass himself.

As for Wu Jie, who would be joining Tang Xiao for dinner... pfft, Wang Kun never took him seriously.

But what he didn't know was that Wu Jie never took him seriously either.

The afternoon did not drag on for too long.

In the hustle and bustle, time flew by, and before they knew it, it was time to leave work.

"Damn, finally off work!"

Sun Liang grabbed his bag and stood up, surprised to find that Wu Jie was shutting down his computer on time.

"Whoa, what's the deal today? Don't you usually sit around a while to avoid the rush hour?"

Wu Jie laughed, "Can't do that today, President Tang is taking me out for a meal!"

"A meal invitation, huh!" Sun Liang chuckled sheepishly, then it dawned on him, "Eh? What did you just say? President Tang... President Tang is taking you out for a meal??"

His voice grew higher until he was practically shouting at the end.

This caught the attention of everyone in the office, who all turned to look at them.

Wu Jie walked up to the time clock, pressed his thumb to it, and said with a laugh, "It's just a meal, is it really that surprising?"

...

Sun Liang stood there, dumbstruck.

The others were equally flabbergasted.

It took a moment for them to react after Wu Jie had gone far.

"Holy mother! Jie's luck is through the roof!"

"President Tang is treating to a meal? Where at? Can I tag along for a little swagger, take me flying?"

"Bro Jie! My man! Is there room for one more hanging on your coattails? I'm begging to cling onto those coattails, begging for coverage!"

"Invisible swagger is truly the deadliest!"

...

The system 'ding-ding-dinged' happily, raking in another wave of envy, jealousy, and hatred from his colleagues.

Taking the elevator down.

Many colleagues departed on the first floor, with only a few heading to the underground parking garage.

Wu Jie headed straight for Area A as soon as he left the elevator. That's where the corporate executives' exclusive parking area was, with wider spaces that were better suited for luxury cars, and there was even a dedicated security guard.

"Jie!!"

A voice suddenly called out.

Wu Jie turned his head and there was Cao Bin, standing in front of his Volkswagen sedan.

"Did you sneak out of work early? What time is it?" Cao Bin asked with a cold face.

Wu Jie walked over cheerfully, sizing up Cao Bin.

This flamboyant guy, only wearing a pink shirt in the morning, was now head to toe in pink by the afternoon. Absolutely ostentatious!

Even with a whole bottle of perfume on, it couldn't disguise the sleaziness emanating from him.

"How could a diligent employee like me ever be late or leave early? As for you... tsk tsk, dressed up so sharp, you got a date?"

Cao Bin checked his watch before giving Wu Jie a dismissive glance. "Of course, I'm rejuvenating for a second spring!"

"You're not suffering from kidney deficiency?" Wu Jie asked.

"Scram!!"

Cao Bin immediately shouted angrily: "The workday's over. Aren't you going home to eat street food and play games? What are you doing here, hoping to get hit by a car?"

Wu Jie laughed. "I'm here to meet President Tang! She's taking me out for dinner tonight!" Saying so, Wu Jie headed off towards the distance.

"What the hell? President Tang? Which President Tang??"

Cao Bin kept asking, and although Wu Jie didn't answer, seeing him walk toward Area A, Cao Bin instantly got it.

"Dammit! The guy's luck is off the charts!"

"And what's with President Tang treating to a meal? Wouldn't it be enough to just give out a little cash?"

...

Wu Jie didn't need to look back to know that Cao Bin was green with envy and hate—who could blame him when the system was continuously delivering good news?

Wu Jie was on a mission, tasked with earning one million energy points within a month.

So, he certainly wasn't going to miss the chance to stir up Cao Bin's hatred.

Most of the parking spots in Area A were empty.

Aside from the Bentley, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes-Benz RVs reserved for transporting important clients, there was only Tang Xiao's Mercedes-Benz off-road vehicle.

Aren't girls supposed to like sedans and sports cars?

But Tang Xiao was different; she had a Mercedes-Benz G550 off-road vehicle.

With its rugged appearance, strong body lines, and angular silhouette that ran straight through its frame, it expressed a fierce and untamed style.

Yet the dazzling snow-white paint job also revealed that, amidst her rugged wildness, Tang Xiao had her tranquil and serene moments.

Standing in front of such a robust off-road vehicle, Wu Jie felt as if he was looking at a house.

The starting price for the vehicle alone was more than a million, and with additional features, it easily topped two million.

"You're very punctual!" called Tang Xiao from afar as she headed straight for the passenger side.

"If there's a lavish meal involved, how could I not be enthusiastic?" replied Wu Jie, getting into the car without playing coy.

Sitting in the driver's seat, the leather chairs offered an ultimate sense of envelopment, while the luxurious interior and features exuded opulence.

Buckling his seat belt, Wu Jie started the car with the push of a button and pulled away.

Buzz!!

"Slow down!" Tang Xiao chided with a laugh. "Do you think this is a commercial vehicle from the marketing department? This car has a 4.0T twin-turbocharged V8 engine—ease up on the gas!"

Wu Jie nodded, "This power really is fierce!"

"That's for sure," Tang Xiao chuckled. "Without proper control over the throttle and brakes, it's easy to crash. Didn't I hit you just yesterday because I braked too late?"

The mighty Mercedes-Benz off-road vehicle quickly left Area A.

Cao Bin, who was holding the door open for Xie Wanjun, saw Wu Jie driving with Tang Xiao in the passenger seat.

In an instant, Cao Bin froze, and Xie Wanjun also looked stunned.

"No way? Even if President Tang invited him to dinner, she wouldn't let him drive her car, right?"

"Yeah! President Tang really dislikes other people driving for her, what's going on today?"

Questions remained, but it was too late—the Mercedes was already roaring into the distance.

Shortly after exiting the parking lot, the Mercedes merged smoothly into the heavy after-work traffic.

Soon enough, Wu Jie was surprised to find that the system was celebrating, as many drivers and pedestrians envied and resented him!

There was no helping it!

Driving a luxury car worth over a million, and carrying a breathtaking beauty—was it even possible not to arouse jealousy?

This feeling was exhilarating!

If he could take Tang Xiao for a stroll along a busy commercial street, he reckoned he could earn even more energy points.

"Looks like earning a million energy points in a month might not be that difficult after all!" thought Wu Jie, unable to suppress his smile.

Tang Xiao, who had been in three meetings that afternoon and was still browsing documents on her tablet in the car, noticed Wu Jie's smile and curiously asked, "Drive properly, what are you laughing at?"

"Driving a luxury car, with a beautiful woman, to enjoy a feast! Of course, I'm happy!" laughed Wu Jie heartily.

Tang Xiao put away her tablet and said with a smile, "Better laugh it up now, so you're not too depressed after seeing Wang Kun."

Wu Jie scoffed, "Heh, the person who can make me depressed isn't born yet!"

Tang Xiao smiled without saying much more and reclined her seat to rest for a while.

Not long after, Wu Jie followed the navigation and arrived at Oak Garden.

The restaurant, like a garden hotel, was hidden amongst the trees—quiet and elegant.

After parking and entering, Wu Jie raised his eyebrows.

The refined decor complemented by numerous potted plants and soft piano music playing in the background gave off a very understated yet luxurious vibe.

Once they mentioned Wang Kun's name, a waiter immediately led them to the backyard.

In a small garden gazebo, candles flickered and fine wines were displayed, with three attentive waiters standing by outside.

And the dapper Wang Kun, in a suit and looking extremely handsome, immediately stood up.

He approached holding a bouquet of fresh flowers, a gentleman's smile on his face, chest out and head high...
