Chapter 89 - Life is Strange 4

I don't know if my decision is the best one but it feels like the most that makes sense to me.

Though, I wanted to extend the arc but saw that it's more illogical if I did.

Well, there's no point thinking. Also, smut in this arc is a bit tricky.

Might not make one much until a later arc if Morty came back. Sue me.

This is a similar situation to Looma who still hasn't gotten a smut but is part of the harem.

Morty will have a date with her much much later.

Anyway, wish me luck.

After their excitement over Morty's revelation about aliens settled down, Chloe and Max continued to ask him questions as they took a break from shooting. Chloe leaned against a rusted car, her curiosity still piqued.

"So, Morty, you've got to tell us more about your family. How did you end up doing all these crazy things? Fighting aliens and traveling dimensions—what's your story?" Max nodded, sitting cross-legged on a nearby piece of metal.

"Yeah, I'm really curious too. What's your background, Morty? How did you get involved in all of this?" Morty smiled, leaning back against a stack of old tires.

"It's a long story, but I'll give you the highlights. My grandpa Rick is a scientist—a genius, really. He's the one who invented the portal gun that allows us to travel between dimensions. He's... well, he's kind of a mad scientist. We've been on countless adventures together, encountering aliens, robots, and all sorts of weird stuff." Chloe's eyes widened in surprise.

"A mad scientist grandpa? Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie." Morty chuckled.

"Yeah, it pretty much is. Rick's experiments and inventions are way beyond anything you'll find on Earth. He's always coming up with new gadgets and technology. That's how I got my hands on this plasma blaster." Max leaned forward, her interest clearly piqued.

"But what about the rest of your family? What do they think about all of this?" Morty's expression softened as he thought about his family.

"Well, my mom, Beth, is a veterinarian, but she's also incredibly smart, just like Rick. She's supportive, but she worries about me sometimes. My dad, Jerry, is... well, let's just say he's not as adventurous. And then there's my sister, Summer. She's pretty cool, and she's been on a few adventures with Rick and me too." Chloe nodded thoughtfully.

"Sounds like you've got quite the family dynamic." Chloe's curiosity hadn't waned, and as they continued to chat, she leaned in with a mischievous grin.

"So, Morty, with all those crazy adventures, have you ever tried alien drugs?" Morty chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Yeah, I've tried them a couple of times. Rick's got a stash of all sorts of substances from different dimensions. Some of them are pretty wild." Max raised an eyebrow, a mix of curiosity and concern in her expression.

"And what are they like? Anything like what we have here on Earth?" Morty shrugged, leaning back against the stack of tires.

"Some of them are similar, but a lot of them are way more intense. I tried this one drug from a planet called Glipglop-9. It made me see colors and patterns that don't even exist in our spectrum. It was like my brain was operating on a whole new level." Chloe laughed, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Man, that sounds insane. I can't even imagine what that must have been like." Morty nodded, a distant look in his eyes as he recalled the experience.

"It was pretty crazy. But, to be honest, a lot of the time, the stuff Rick has me do is just as trippy without the drugs. Traveling to different dimensions, seeing alternate realities... it really messes with your perception of reality."

Max looked thoughtful, her fingers tapping lightly on the metal she was sitting on.

"It sounds like you've been exposed to so much more than we could ever imagine. It must be hard to keep everything straight sometimes." Morty smiled ruefully.

"Yeah, it can be. But I guess I've gotten used to it. And it's not all bad. I've learned a lot about myself and the universe. Plus, I've met some really interesting people along the way." Chloe grinned, clearly impressed.

"Well, I gotta say, Morty, you're full of surprises. I never thought I'd meet someone who's fought aliens and tried interdimensional drugs." Morty chuckled.

"Yeah, it's a weird life, but it's mine. And I'm glad to share some of it with you guys. You're the first people I've met in a long time who get it, who are willing to dive into the unknown with me."

Then a moment of silence envolped before Max's eyes sparkled with curiosity as they made their way out of the junkyard.

"So, Morty, what do the other planets you've visited look like? I'd love to photograph them one day."

Morty grinned, reaching into his pocket to pull out a small, sleek device.

"I can do you one better, Max. Check this out." He pressed a button on the device, and a hologram sprang to life, projecting vivid, three-dimensional images of various alien landscapes into the air before them. Max and Chloe stared in awe, their mouths agape at the breathtaking sights.

"Holy shit," Chloe exclaimed, her usual swearing slipping out in her astonishment.

"That is freaking amazing!"Max was equally stunned, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the holographic display.

"This is incredible, Morty! It's like nothing I've ever seen before."

The hologram cycled through images of vibrant, alien worlds. One planet had luminescent purple forests with bioluminescent creatures flitting between the trees. Another showed a sprawling cityscape with towering, crystalline skyscrapers that seemed to hum with energy. There was even a serene, oceanic world where gigantic, serene creatures swam through the turquoise waters. Morty watched their reactions with a pleased smile.

"These are just a few of the places I've been to. Each dimension, each planet, has its own unique beauty and strangeness." Max leaned in closer to the hologram, her photographer's eye studying every detail.

"I wish I could capture these on film. The colors, the textures—they're beyond anything here on Earth." Morty nodded, understanding her fascination.

"One day, maybe. With my technology, who knows? We could find a way for you to photograph them for real." Max was surprised by his words.

"Really you would do that? Are you sure? We hardly know each other." Morty shrugged.

"Doesn't matter, time is irrelevant and It isn't that much trouble." Chloe, still awestruck, shook her head in amazement.

"I can't believe this is real. It's like living in a sci-fi movie." Morty chuckled.

"Yeah, it definitely feels that way sometimes. But it's also taught me that there's so much more out there than what we see every day. The universe is vast and full of wonders." Max reached out as if to touch the hologram, her fingers passing through the ethereal projection.

"Thank you for sharing this with us, Morty. It's... it's beyond words." Chloe nodded vigorously.

"Yeah, man. This is seriously mind-blowing. You're full of surprises." Morty smiled, feeling a warm sense of camaraderie with his new friends.

"I'm glad you guys like it. And who knows, maybe one day we'll get to explore these places together. For now, though, we've got a lot to deal with right here in Arcadia Bay." Morty said and both nodded while they continued to chat with Morty changing the subject.

"Anyway, you've mentioned photography, Max. I assume you're studying photography in Blackwell academy." Max nodded.

"Yeah…but I'm still struggling to get the perfect photo." Morty smiled upon hearing this.

"Take your time. Isn't photography all about capturing the perfect moment and time that is encapsulated into a single picture that tells an entire story?" Max was surprised by his insight.

"Woah, quite the insight you got there." Morty smirks and As Max and Morty continued their conversation, Chloe couldn't help but notice the easy rapport between them. She smirked, deciding to interrupt with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"Hey, Morty," Chloe said, stepping closer and nudging him playfully.

"You seem like a pretty cool guy with all these wild adventures. Do you have a girlfriend back home, or are you too busy saving the universe?" Morty chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well, it's a bit more complicated than that, Chloe. I, uh, actually have a harem." Max and Chloe both stared at him, their jaws dropping in shock.

"A harem?!" Max exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"Like, multiple girlfriends?" Chloe whistled, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Damn, Morty, you're full of surprises. How does that even work?" Morty sighed, trying to find the best way to explain.

"It's kind of a long story. My relationships back home are... unconventional, to say the least. It's not something I planned or expected, but it's just how things turned out. Everyone involved is aware and consenting, and we all care about each other deeply." Max blinked, still processing the information.

"That's... wow, Morty. I didn't expect that. But if it works for you and everyone is happy, then that's what matters."

Chloe shook her head, still wrapping her mind around the concept.

"Man, your life really is like a sci-fi movie. Aliens, dimensional travel, and now a harem? You're like the ultimate Gary Stu, Morty." Morty laughed, appreciating their open-mindedness.

"Yeah, it's a bit surreal sometimes. But I've learned to roll with it. Life throws a lot at you, and you just have to take it as it comes." Chloe, ever the tease, couldn't resist pushing the envelope further. With a sly grin, she turned to Morty, her eyebrow raised.

"So, Morty, since you've got this harem thing going on, should Max and I be worried? Are we on your target list too?" Max blushed, shooting Chloe a bewildered look.

"Chloe!" Morty laughed, his cheeks reddening slightly.

"Well, Chloe, you and Max are definitely special. I mean, who wouldn't be interested in two amazing girls like you?" Chloe's grin widened, her playful nature fully engaged.

"Oh, so you are targeting us? I should've known. You've got that mysterious traveler vibe going on." Morty shrugged, trying to maintain his composure while playing along.

"Let's just say, if circumstances were different, I wouldn't mind getting to know you both a little better. But for now, we've got more important things to focus on, like stopping Nathan and Jefferson." Max's blush deepened, but she couldn't help but smile at Morty's honesty.

"Well, thanks for the compliment, Morty. But yeah, Chloe's right—we've got a lot on our plates." Chloe laughed, giving Morty a playful punch on the arm.

"Fair enough, Morty. But don't think we won't keep an eye on you. You never know what might happen in this crazy town." Morty grinned, feeling a sense of camaraderie and playfulness among the three of them.

"I wouldn't have it any other way, Chloe. Let's just take things one step at a time and see where this adventure leads us." As Max and Morty continued to discuss the incredible alien worlds, their conversation was suddenly interrupted by Chloe.

"Hey, Morty," she said, a determined look in her eyes,

"What else can you do? And can you help me find someone?" Morty turned to Chloe, curious.

"Who are you looking for?" Chloe took a deep breath, her expression serious.

"Her name's Rachel Amber. She was my best friend. She's been missing for a while, and I've been trying to find her. I've put up fliers all over town." Morty pretended to think for a moment, recalling the fliers he had indeed seen around Arcadia Bay.

He already knows and wanted to extend the time he spends with them but seeing this also would have a huge impact for both Max and Chloe decided to help her.

"Rachel Amber... Oh, I've seen those fliers. You're the one who posted them?" Chloe nodded, her voice tinged with both hope and frustration.

"Yeah, that's me. Rachel meant everything to me, and I need to find out what happened to her." Max, standing beside Chloe, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Chloe's been searching for Rachel ever since she disappeared. Any help you can offer, Morty, would mean a lot to us." Morty nodded thoughtfully.

"Alright, I'll help. Let's see what we can find out about Rachel's disappearance. I've got some tech that might come in handy."

Chloe's eyes lit up with a mixture of hope and relief.

"Thanks, Morty. You have no idea how much this means to me." Morty smiled reassuringly.

"We're in this together. Let's start by retracing her steps and looking at any clues we can find." Max added.

"We've been trying to piece things together, but we haven't had much luck. Maybe with your help, we can finally get some answers." Morty pulled out a small, sleek device that resembled a scanner.

"This is an interdimensional tracker. It's designed to pick up on traces of unique energy signatures, which might help us locate Rachel or at least give us some leads." Chloe looked at the device with a mix of awe and skepticism.

"That sounds... pretty high-tech. But at this point, I'm willing to try anything." Morty nodded, activating the device.

"Let's head to the last place Rachel was seen. We can start our search there."
