Timing and Chance

Celia felt her eyes welling up as she looked at his stunned face. He was right. It was always risky for a woman to be sneaking around at night. Especially when she was the goddamn queen.

Why couldn't I just have waited until tomorrow to seek him out?

"I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to worry you. I've just been missing you a lot, and when I heard you were back..." she hung her head.

Lucas's expression softened and he pulled her against her chest, tugging her hood back at the same time. "It's alright, I shouldn't have snapped at you. I missed you terribly as well, and the little ones. You just worry the hell out of me sometimes, Celia."

She pulled back slightly, suddenly irritated. "You know I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself, don't you?"
