Hunger

"Karina, darling, you are just in time!" The woman's face bloomed with a refreshing smile, her thin red lips curling upwards. Selina Ashford always knew how to fake a smile that was just perfect enough to seem real.

Her shoulder-length blonde hair was carefully styled, with big, heavy curls barely touching the elegant shape of her shoulders. Her narrow, bright blue eyes sparkled with curiosity and attention, giving her sharp face a sense of freshness and intended youth.

Selina was always careful about her appearance; everything about her had to be perfect. However, unlike what was visible to the eyes of everyone around her, only Karina seemed to be perceptive enough to see how much imperfection was concealed behind that fake but beautiful demeanor.

There was nothing in common between the two of them.

"Don't just stand there, come, take a seat."
