Differently from Issei, I couldn't make full use of Grigori's protection to keep my parents safe and, as much as I loved my cramped room back in that house, I needed much more space to deal with training and studying other arcane arts.

An extreme decision to prevent an extreme circumstance from exploding right on my face.

I took the keys in my one of my hands, while the other went to Kunou's head, the girl smiling and closing her eyes as she accepted the simple, loving gesture.

The return home was surely going to be…

quite hectic.

When Yasaka had first announced the need to have some nightly feast to celebrate the heroic deed he had been responsible for, Hoitsu had felt slightly nervous over the fact that he would have to deal with quite the big night considering the situation.

Kunou was the heiress to the Yokai ruler, and her safe rescue would have been reflected on the magnitude of the celebration he was urged to be part of despite his early refusals.

The human was quite aware that he wouldn't be able to hold well with too much Sake, and even with the guarantees from Baraqiel that the Fallen Angel would have kept close, the young man couldn't but feel doubtful over this development.

And a feast was indeed prepared in the span of mere hours for such an important circumstance as the palace was filled with Yokai of various kinds, everyone eagerly waiting for the formal beginning of this sudden joyful event.

Hoitsu was nervous, even beyond his 'safe mask' as Hekishoku, his mind was unwilling to show any major interest over the celebrations happening all around him and, with good reasons, he started to shuffle further away from the center of attention.

Shying away from too much drinking, it took him a quick sip from the only cup he had allowed to drink for his worries to materialize in the form of the heat lingering by his chest.

It was a pretty strong kind of Sake, enough to give some trouble to the weakest of Yokais… and a lot of problems to a mere human like him since he was in that humongous room with very few familiar faces.

Vali had long decided to return to the Hotel's room to find some early sleep, while Kunou had been forced to stay close to her mother by the time alcohol was served to the various guests in the palace.

The Grigori Magician was careful to not get anyone's attention as he kept himself from interacting with any of the people around, unwilling to be subjected to the spotlight once again for the rest of the night.

Many noticed him, but none had the guts to actually try and approach him with how unconsciously menacing he was appearing as he continued to act as if brooding by the furthest corner in the room.

The act itself was one he had developed from Vali's own attitude, the disguise rendering the attempt stark perfect to survive the event without getting embroiled in some more troubles.

He was tired, his mind wanted just to find some place where to rest and ignore the rest of the world for a couple of seconds… and that would have been possible if he had pressed more that he didn't need any celebration for doing something as important as saving Kunou out of his selfless nature.

He yawned quietly, the noise muffled within his mask. His attention was barely up after about two hours of idly sitting alone by one of the distant tables, and the alcohol surprisingly enough kept him from outright collapse on the wooden texture of the furniture.

He needed a bed, he needed some good rest, and perhaps peace away from issues.

Just as he expected for the event to turn out as a smooth reason to finally brood at people, his efforts were proved to be in vain as someone ultimately decided to approach the table and… she stared at him with a curious look plastered on her face.

The dark-haired beauty was donning a peculiar dark-pink mask that covered most of her eyes, only displaying some bright color about those.

The small thing matched up quite well with her floral-styled pink kimono with a bright yellow ribbon to keep it close to her voluptuous frame and it all looked… fairly risque considering the current state of the room.

There were some drunk Yokai that had to be escorted outside just now, some accused of having molested some of the women taking part at the feast, and a little hint of concern settled on his face as he greeted the young woman.

"Hello?"

Her smile widened a little, highlighting the red hue over her cheeks as she slowly took a seat by the closest chair to mine.

"Hello there~," Her tone was suave and… for some reason even familiar to listen to.

Hoitsu blinked with some confusion over his features, but he did indulge with the interaction, just to see where he had heard such a voice.

"Do I know you from somewhere?" The human inquired carefully, gaining just a giggle out of this mysterious lady as she shuffled in her seat.

"I suppose my appearance might be memorable for some," She replied happily, gesturing her looks. "But I'm not sure of that myself… after all, you've got quite the curious mask that hinder my memories about meeting… a lovely hunk."

Another blink, his alcohol-induced blush intensified at the unexpected compliment.

"I-I suppose that might create some issues..." He admitted quietly, but before he could continue, a wolf-eared waiter passed by with a small plate with numerous small cups filled with Sake.

"Do the gorgeous lady and respectful hero require some drinks?"

The young man was ready to refuse the offer as politely as possible, knowing that it wasn't just the case for him to drink when-

"I will take one," The woman replied calmly, carefully fishing one of the cups. "And please, don't leave me to drink alone… 'respectable hero'."
