Their Secret Finally Reveal

Chapter Twenty-Eight:

"Wh-what are you ta-talking about?" I asked as my shocked was written all over my face.

"That's the truth." He calmly replied. "And no matter what you do, you cannot escape the fact that you're also the same as us. Though, you stay pure, innocent and humane. You are still--"

"Stop it!" I shouted out loud because I don't want to hear him or even see his eyes. It's like, I'm having a nightmare that I couldn't awake no matter how much I try to ignore or erase it, I cannot. "I-I need to go…" I said as my voice trembles and yet it isn't just my voice, but my whole body trembles too.

"Lady Shu!" he was about to get closer but I stop him.

"No!" I firmly said with my right hand raised up. "Don't come near me!"

Hours ago…

I run out of our house, leaving Haimon to our room alone while I march out without any plans of where I should go. I just walk out our residence and walk on the street. I am so mad and feel so betrayed because of my husband's loss of trust. Even though I was given him a lot of time to tell me his secrets, he continues to hide everything from me.

That makes me hurt and sad because that only means, he never ever trusts me from the very beginning. Oh, darn it! It really hurts that it squeezes my heart so tight and I cannot stop my tears to fall out of my eyes.

I hate it! But what else can I do? If the man that I love the most, the man that I cherish and care so much I almost forgot about myself. Was the same man who can never ever trust me! And to make it worst, he is my mysterious husband.

Del Gazini's Residence

"Mond!" I quickly called Redmond and he quickly came. "Please, follow my wife." I beg.

"I will." He said before he left.

"Ah!" I fell down on our bed and I could hardly think of a reason why my wife suddenly asked about my secret. Who sailed to her to ask that matter? It puzzled me! I take a deep breath and was about to follow Redmond when I received a call, when I pick it up, I saw my uncle's name and remember that we had a small meeting. "Hello." I answered even though I felt heavy to answer his call because it only means, I still choose the duty I had rather than to choose my wife that left our house alone and mad.

"Where are you?" Norward asked.

"I… I'm on my way." I said and immediately took my keys.

"Good! Because this is urgent, you need to be here as soon as possible." He said and I can sense the seriousness from his voice before we hang up.

God knows how much I wanted to follow my wife but I couldn't just ignore this matter because it's all about my wife's future. I need… no, we all need to protect her no matter what.

Along the road…

I was so upset and so bad I couldn't stop my tears that no matter what I did to stop, I am still crying. And in an unexpected turn of events, the weather suddenly cries with me. It started to rain, which hides my tears away and I don't care if I get drench I just continue to walk until my eyes blurs.

Everything went blurred when suddenly a bright light blinded me that caused me to stop and close my eyes. I wait till it pass and I can sense it was a car that suddenly stops at my side before someone call out my attention.

"Mrs. Del Gazini?"

I open my eyes only to meet, "Mr. Reinhardt?"

"You're…" he suddenly paused before he opens the door to come out with his umbrella. "You're soaking wet!" he said. "Come, get in to my car."

"But--"

"No buts!" he cuts me off. "I insist. Let's go."

Meanwhile…

Damn it! Where is she? I asked as I keep looking around but because it's heavily pouring it became harder for me to see Shu Tokino. "This isn't right!" I run through the rain but still I couldn't find her. I can even sense that the rain isn't normal as if someone trying to cover up something that no one can see. And whatever it is, I need to inform Haimon as soon as possible.

Reinhardt's Residence

"Here." Kanik gave me some clothes to change.

"Th-thanks." I shyly replied.

"You're welcome." He replied and smiled. "Go ahead and change before you catch cold, I'll wait for you at the outside." He said that I just nodded and he left me.

I heavily sigh and I really don't know why I suddenly agreed to him and come to his place or maybe because I want to know the truth. I badly wanted to know the truth.

"Here, drink this." Kanik gave me a glass of hot chocolate after I'm done changing and offer me a sit before he makes us some snacks.

"Thanks."

He smiles. "So, what happened to you? Why are you out there?"

"I…" I hesitated to tell him the truth but it seems he notice it.

"Lover's quarrel, right?"

"Huh! Ahm."

"No worries, that's normal." I just nodded. "Anyway, you can stay here until the rain stops."

"Ca-can I ask you straight?" I decided, I'll ask him. "Tell the truth, what is your secret?" I seriously asked him and took him a while before he answered.

"As I expected, he didn't tell you."

"Yes! Coincidence or not, I was going to look for you and ask you instead since that Haimon won't tell me anything. So, what is it?"

"I can see from your eyes that you're serious but then are you sure you're ready to know the truth?"

"Yes."

Silence.

"Our secret is," his eyes changes. "We're Vampires."

"Wh-what?!"

"That's the truth, we're Vampires."
